Sam Partonen
Assistant Coach
Sam Partonen joins the staff this year as an assistant coach with the University of Mary Washington Women’s Basketball team. In her time with the Eagles, Partonen was a four year starter and her class ended their careers with an overall record of 88-22.
In her sophomore year, the Eagles finished with a 30-1 record and a trip to the NCAA Elite 8. Partonen was a two year captain. In her junior year, she was named to First Team All-Conference and Second Team VaSID All-Sate. In her senior year, she was named to Second Team All-Conference and was nominated for the 2014 Allstate Good Works Team.
After graduating in 2014, Partonen went on to earn her Master’s degree in Education from UMW as well. She then accepted a teaching position at a Spotsylvania County middle school, where she continues to work today.
