Sarah Woofter

Coach Sarah Woofter is excited at the opportunity to join Debbie Nelson and the rest of the team Nike staff on the trip to Amsterdam this summer. Coach Woofter participated in a tour similar to this back in 2011 as a player. She visited Sydney, Australia for two weeks and was able to compete against teams from Australia.

Sarah currently is a private Softball / Baseball Instructor and Athletic Trainer in the East Bay. Throughout the week she gives private hitting and fielding instruction to both boys and girls, ranging from the ages of 9 to 22. Sarah conducts boot camps for both adults and youth age groups, and has put together large summer camps that have hosted college coaches and players from across the U.S. She is very big on giving back to the community and has hosted several clinics to raise money for families who have suffered from loss.

As a senior at the University of California San Diego, in 2011, Sarah Woofter helped lead her team to their first and only National Championship. The Tritons defeated the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, the University of Alabama-Huntsville. In the National Championship game Sarah went 3-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base in the 10-3 victory. At the NCAA Division II College Softball World Series she batted .455 overall, and finished her senior year with an overall .321 batting average.

Sarah Woofter was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended San Leandro High School and while there she was a 4-year Varsity athlete in both Softball and Basketball. Coach Woofter finished her scholastic career with a 4.25 overall GPA at San Leandro High. She was chosen as the female representative and nominee for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award at the conclusion of her Senior Year. Just last year Sarah Woofter was also inducted into the San Leandro Sports Hall of Fame 2017 class.

She dedicates her success to her family, parents Akemi Woofter and Tom Woofter, and three older brothers Matthew, Isaac and Daniel.
