Sophia Monopoli

Sophia Monopoli is the Head Field Hockey Coach at Worcester State University and Coach at Level Up Field Hockey Lessons.
In her first season, Monopoli led the Lancers to their first MASCAC Championship in the MASCAC inagural season with an NCAA Bid and had one payer named Player of the Year and an NFHCA Second Team All Region Selection.
Monopoli returns to Worcester State after a prolific four-year career as a starting forward for the Lancers where she was a member of the first ever Little East Conference Championship team in 2019 and was named to the Little East All-Conference team that same year. She finished her career as a Lancer with 70 games played, recording 21 goals and 18 assists.
Prior to her arrival at Worcester State, Monopoli served as the assistant field hockey coach at Fitchburg State where she was responsible for managing player goals on and off the field along with developing the team’s practice schedule and plans. The Falcons, under Monopoli, progressed from two wins to 10 wins during her tenure. She is returning to Worcester, where she graduated from Holy Name High School in 2016 as a four-year varsity member of both the field hockey and softball programs for the Napolean’s, being named a Central Mass All-Star in both her junior and senior seasons. Monopli also serves as a head coach for Level Up Field Hockey in Worcester, MA and has coached for Baystate Field Hockey Summer Games.
