Sophie Velitchkov

Sophie Velitchkov is a part of Brandy Maben's coaching staff. She is currently a senior at Northern Arizona University, where she specializes as a Back/Free swimmer.
As a junior, Velitchkov earned a top 50 free time at the TYR/CMU Invitational. She also won the silver medal in the 400 medley relay at the WAC Championships in 2022.
Her other accolades include a silver medal in the 100-yard backstroke in the 2022 WAC Championships, as well as a gold in 400 medley relay at the 2021 edition.
At McClintock High School, Velitchkov was a four year starter and letter winner. She was an All-City Champion all four years and even an All-American consideration. Velitchkov holds three records at her high school, breaking the 100 back, 50 free, and 200 free, as well as the 200 and 400 medley relay.
