Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach, Linfield University. Tessa Kern is in her second year as head coach of the Linfield women’s tennis program and serves as a lead coach for Next Athletes and Nike Tennis Camps.
A four-year standout for the Wildcats, Kern was a member of three Northwest Conference championship teams. She was a two-time first team all-NWC selection before graduating in 2022 with bachelor’s degrees in history and education. During her four seasons in a Wildcats uniform, Linfield compiled a 26-0 record versus Northwest Conference opponents and was 50-11 in overall dual matches. Playing primarily in the No. 1 flight, she posted a 38-11 career doubles record and was 16-17 in dual match singles play. The Corvallis, Oregon, native was a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete at Linfield. Since graduating, she has been serving as a head professional at Timberhill Tennis Club, leading lessons and running clinics for junior and adult players. Her involvement in the Corvallis tennis community extends to junior clinics, Parks and Recreation classes, junior USTA tournaments and private tennis lessons.
