Victor Olivares
Camp Director
A Tucson native and IRHS alumni, Coach Olivares was in the first graduating class in 2004. He was a two sport athlete and team co-captain for the football and baseball teams. In football he was 2004 Pre-Season All-State Safety and received All-City honors in 2003 and 2004. In baseball he was an All-City infielder in 2003 and 2004.
Coach Olivares received a baseball scholarship to Pima Community College and then transferred to Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO where he studied Sports Industry Operations. His coaching career actually began in 2003 as a student athlete when he worked at IRHS camps. He continued after graduation during the 2005 & 2006 summers. Other coaching experience includes camps for Baja Baseball (’05 & ’06), Metro State College (’07, ’08, & ’09), and the University of Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne (2010-2013). He also coached the baseball and softball teams at Wilson Middle School. For the past four summers Coach Olivares has worked for Nike Baseball Camps in Boston, Mass. where he has served as an assistant coach. Coach Olivares also serves as one of the Dirtybirds coaches during the summer, fall and winter.
