Vince Kinney - Assistant Coach - George Fox University

Vince Kinney is a current assistant coach at George Fox University. Prior to that, he also coached collegiately at Lewis & Clark College, where he planned and implemented training for all sprints, hurdles, and jump events, as well as the multi-event athletes. He started his coaching career while he was at Portland State University in 2007 as an assistant coach at Lincoln High School. In 2017, Kinney became the head coach of Lake Oswego High School. While at Lake Oswego High School, he has coached state champions in 20 events. He led Lake Oswego to a 6A Girls State Championship in 2022.

Kinney was a five-year track & field athlete at Portland State University. In 2006, Kinney finished as a Junior All-American. In addition, he also finished third and second in the Big Sky Conference Championships in his junior and senior seasons respectively. He still ranks in the top-10 in program history for indoor track in the 55M hurdles, high jump, pole vault, pentathlon and heptathlon and for outdoor track & field in the high jump and decathlon. Kinney graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Health Sciences, Community Health and School of Health in 2010.
