- Lomnicki played collegiate soccer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and was a part of a team that made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
- As a senior captain, he anchored a back line that allowed only 13 goals for the 2007 season, setting a school record for fewest goals allowed. He earned all-region honors as a senior.
- Lomnicki holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. He is also a staff coach at Oak Brook Soccer Club.
