This Cross Country Camp is designed as a comprehensive training camp program with a focus on track & field fundamentals including drills, pacing, strength endurance, speed, and core strengthening as well as the mental edge training necessary for top athletic performances.
We work with elementary, middle & high school XC athletes of all abilities, to help you get better and have fun!

SECURE YOUR SPOT!
The Nike Cross Country Camp at University of New Haven offers an experienced coaching staff for cross country training. Educational lectures on topics including training, drills and technique, plyometrics, motivation and goal setting, nutrition, and much more are included in the daily breakouts. Video analysis is used to teach campers about proper form. Join us this summer in West Haven, Connecticut for an action-packed week.
2025 OVERVIEW

- June 29-July 2, 2025 (Sunday-Wednesday)
- July 6-9 (Sunday-Wednesday)
- Age Group: 10-17 (Grades 4-12, Entering Fall 2025)
- Gender: Co-ed
- Camp Types: Overnight, Day, Extended Day
- Meals: All meals are provided at the on-campus dining facility. Day campers do not receive breakfast. All campers are provided lunch and dinner.

Overnight Campers:
- Check-in: Sunday: 12:00pm
- Check-out: Wednesday: 12:30-1:00pm
Day Campers:
- Check-in: Sunday: 1:00pm
- Check-out: Sunday-Tuesday: 5:30pm; Wednesday: 12:30-1:00pm
- Check-in: Sunday: 1:00pm
- Check-out: Sunday-Tuesday: 7:00pm; Wednesday: 12:30-1:00pm

All necessary camp information is on this page. If there are any imperative changes prior to camp start, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated!
Per Connecticut and Massachusetts Board of Health guidelines, all campers must fill out the CT Health & Liability Form and meet the requirements outlined in the Massachusetts List of Required Vaccinations.
HOUSING
- Dorm: Assigned at check in
- Campers Per Room: TBD
- Roommates: Guaranteed if requested 14 days prior to camp
- Bathrooms: Shared on floor
- Linens: Not provided. Please bring Size Twin XL sheets.
- Air Conditioning: TBD
- Key Deposit: $50 check made payable to US Sports Camps
Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEES:
- Overnight Campers: Features several instructional sessions per day, three hot meals, and lodging in boarding school residence halls. An evening recreation program is also included.
- Day/Extended Day Campers: This option offers the same features as the resident camp minus lodging & breakfast (Day Campers should eat breakfast before daily check-in).
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
- Grouped by: age, ability, and event
- Evaluation: by coaching staff
- Equipment: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are recommended but not required. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
- Facility: University of New Haven
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.
ALL CAMPERS:
- Extra Athletic clothing
- 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes/ event spikes
- Non-running shoes
- Water bottle
- Sunblock
- Small gym bag/backpack
- Extra spending money (suggested $40)
OVERNIGHT CAMPERS ONLY:
- Athletic clothing mentioned above
- Comfortable non-running clothing
- Underwear and socks
- Pajamas/sleepwear
- Flip flops
- Toiletries
- Personal items & medications
- Washcloth and bath towel
- Alarm clock
- Swimsuit and towel

- Pen and paper for notes during guest speakers
- Cell phone (if you have one)

- Pillow, pillowcase, bed sheets (size Twin XL), comforter or sleeping bag (linens are NOT provided)

GEAR UP FOR CAMP
All Nike Cross Country Campers receive a Nike camp t-shirt as part of their tuition. Additional Nike Camp gear is available for purchase at check-out or can be purchased at any time on our storefront.
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
CAMP TUITION PAYMENTS
Full payment of camp fees must be completed by the first day of the month before camp. For example:
- June Camps: final payment is due on May 1
- July Camps: final payment is due on June 1
- August Camps: final payment is due on July 1
Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before the start of their camp will forfeit all camp fees paid to date and be removed from the camp.
Your confirmation email shows your balance due and balance due date. Final payments can be made through the US Sports Camps Customer Portal or by phone at 1-800-645-3226.

Camp Questions & Answers
Does the Health & Release Form need to be signed by a doctor?
Our Health & Release Form does not require a doctor’s signature. This form is required to be filled out accurately, signed by the parent (guardian), and brought with you to the first day of camp.
Are the campers supervised throughout the camp?
Yes, campers are supervised by the coaches and staff. Staff members reside in the same dorms as the campers and provide supervision during instruction, dining times, evening activities, and in the dorm. All staff members complete criminal and sex offender background checks before working the camp.
