at Nike Flag Football Camps

Our flag football camp is designed to support athletes of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Participants will be taught the fundamentals of flag football while progressively being introduced to higher-level concepts. Instruction will focus on key areas such as route running, flag pulling, hip tracking, coverage techniques, on-field football IQ, and overall game awareness to help athletes build confidence, sharpen skills, and elevate their understanding of the game.

    Camp Director

    Coach Martin Hyatte was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, and has dedicated his life to football as both a player and a coach.

    A four-year varsity starter and two-time All-Conference selection at Rockford East High School, he continued his football career at Wartburg College in Iowa, where he became a three-year letter winner, two-time All-Conference defensive end, and the first African American team captain in program history.

    Coach Hyatte began his coaching career at Marian University in Indianapolis as an assistant defensive line coach, helping the program reach the 2014 NAIA National Championship and win the 2015 NAIA National Title.

    Since returning to Rockford in 2016, he has focused on developing youth and high school athletes across multiple programs, including the Jr. Indians, Rockton Rebels, Rockford Renegades, Rockford Wolves, and Rockford Lutheran Jr. Crusaders. His Rockton Rebels team captured State and Regional Championships before advancing to the Pop Warner Super Bowl at Disney World.

    Coach Hyatte has emerged as a leader in the flag football space. His 14U flag team won the Chicagoland Regional Championship and will compete in the NFL Flag National Tournament in July of 2026.

    He has hosted an Uncommitted Senior Showcase, giving high school athletes a final opportunity to be evaluated by college programs, and he coordinated the camp structure for the James Robinson Football Camp.

    Across all levels, Coach Hyatte is known for his faith, building disciplined athletes, strong leaders, and competitive teams. His focus is accountability, fundamentals, and long-term growth spiritually, mentally and physically.

    Since 2001, Coach Grounds has been the head football coach at Jacksonville High School, leading the Crimsons to 14 playoff appearances and compiling an overall record of 130–115. In 2024, he was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. In 2025, he returned to his alma mater to serve as Head Women’s Flag Football Coach at Illinois College.

    An alumnus of Illinois College (Class of ’91), Grounds was a four-year letterwinner, an All-Midwest Conference performer, and a team captain as a senior. He began his coaching career in 1993 as an assistant at Jacksonville High School before moving to the collegiate level at North Park University from 1995 to 2000, where he served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

    Coach Stephanie Aragon is the inaugural Head Coach of the newly established women’s flag football program at Blackburn College. Originally from El Paso, Texas, she has a rare combination of experience as both a coach and an active professional player.

    Prior to coming to Blackburn College, she helped lead the pilot flag football program at Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas and was a member of the New Mexico Banitas under the Women’s Football Alliance where she ranked among the league’s top players; finishing second in receiving yards (430), first in kickoff return yards (307) and was seventh in both total points (52) and touchdowns (8). She also received the “New Mexico Banitas Most Valuable Player Award” and was a First Team All American Selection (2022 and 2025) where she was able to play at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio for both years.

    A former NJCAA D-1 (New Mexico Military Institute, Roswell, New Mexico), NAIA D-1 (University of the Southwest, Hobbs, New Mexico) and NCCAA D-1 (Victory University, Memphis, Tennessee) student-athlete, Aragon was instrumental in leading her collegiate volleyball teams, earning her All-Tournament, All-Conference and All-Region accolades. She started playing flag football in 2018 under the Southwest Flag Football League (one of the largest leagues in Texas) and has traveled to USA sanctioned tournaments having played with a Nationally Ranked Team called Mix Breeds that is based out of California for the USA Flag Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee in 2024.

    Aragon continues to be a trailblazer in the women’s football community as she will continue her professional women’s tackle football career playing with the Back-to-Back Women’s Football Alliance National Champions the St. Louis Slam for the upcoming 2026 season. Along with being the Head Women’s Flag Football Coach, she is also the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and helps run the Strength and Conditioning program

    Coach Mykal Brown has committed himself to the game of football, beginning his journey at just four years old. He played flag football with the Rockford Park District for 11 years, where he was a member of two national flag football teams, gaining high-level competitive experience at a young age.

    Coach Brown attended Auburn High School before continuing his academic and athletic career at Rockford University. At Rockford University, he played five years as both a wide receiver and cornerback, developing a deep understanding of the game on both sides of the ball.

    He has spent the past six years coaching flag football with the Rockford Park District, where he led a 12–14-year-old team to a championship and coached a national flag football team.

    For the past two years, Coach Brown has served with the Harlem High School Girls Flag Football program as Offensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach, and now steps into the role of Head Coach. During his tenure, Harlem has made two regional championship appearances, secured one regional championship title, and earned a sectional championship appearance. He has also coached multiple athletes to compete at the collegiate level and has developed numerous All-Conference and All-State players.

    Coach Brown is committed to building disciplined, confident, and high-character athletes while continuing to elevate the standard of girls flag football in the Rockford area

    Brice Spence hails from Corinth, Mississippi, where his journey in football and leadership began. He started his collegiate career at Northeast Mississippi Community College, earning his Associate's Degree while competing on the gridiron. Spence continued his academic and athletic pursuits at Rockford University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business, all while maintaining his commitment to the game he loves.

    Today, Spence serves as an Aviation Security Specialist at Amazon Air in Rockford, Illinois, where he applies the same discipline and attention to detail that defined his playing days. His unique combination of athletic experience, business acumen, and professional expertise positions him perfectly for his coaching role. Having walked the path from small-town Mississippi to college athletics and into a successful career, Spence understands the challenges young athletes face both on and off the field. He's committed to leveraging his experiences to develop not just skilled players, but well-rounded young men prepared for success in all aspects of life.

Camp Details

Instruction will develop fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork, specific positions, team play, and game situations.

  • Dates: June 3-5, 2026
  • Age Group: 7-14
  • Full Day Schedule: 9:00-3:00pm
  • Gender: Co-Ed
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
