This summer, Nike Football Camps is proud to bring its top-tier training experience to Sarasota High School for the 2025 season. Located at Charlie Cleland Stadium at Ihrig Field, this camp offers an exciting opportunity for athletes to sharpen their skills, connect with others, and grow their love for the game of football.

At Nike Football Camps, we believe in creating a well-rounded experience where athletes gain more than just football skills. You’ll build teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while making lifelong memories. With Sarasota’s beautiful weather and top-notch facilities, it’s the perfect setting to continue playing the game you love.

    BJ Ivey is the Director of Athletics at Sarasota High School.

    B.J. Ivey served in Sarasota County Schools as a teacher and coach at Riverview High School. During his 13 years as head coach at Riverview High School his teams won 270 games, 8 district titles and made 3 region finals appearances. B.J. was named "Boys Basketball Coach of the Year" by the Sarasota-Bradenton Herald Tribune in 2011, 2012, & 2016. Ivey also led The Rams to their only appearance in the State Finals in 2016. Ivey's programs produced 5 Sarasota and Manatee County "Player of the Year" winners and during this span he spent 8 years coaching Nike Team Florida in Nike's prestigious Elite Youth Basketball League. All in all, he's had the opportunity to coach over 40 players that went on to play Division 1 Basketball in his time as a head coach.

    As a teacher, B.J. Ivey was named the 2017 Sarasota County Teacher of the Year. He was also awarded the Shine Award by Governor Rick Scott for greatly impacting the lives of students in the classroom. The Baltimore Orioles recognized Ivey as their 2018 Community Hero and in 2020 he was inducted into the Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes Hall of Fame. In 2023, B.J. was presented with the Ripple Effect Award by Sarasota County Schools, an award that recognizes and celebrates the lasting impact he has on students, staff, athletes, and peers.

    Head Camp Coach

    Anthony “Amp” Campbell is the head football coach at Sarasota High School. He began playing football at six years of age and graduated from Riverview High School where he was a high school All American. After graduating, he went on to play at Michigan State University where he was a college All American and an All Big Ten Corner.

    He finished his college career with seven interceptions in 22 games, returning one for a touchdown for the Spartans. Coach Campbell earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State in 1999. After his playing days, he worked as an assistant coach at Alabama State, Western Michigan, Lane College in Tennessee, Ferris State, Kent State and Urbana University before returning home to Riverview. He has been coaching for 22 years and has worked with such named coaches as George Perles , Nick Saban and Bobby Williams at Michigan State. For the past three years, he has worked as a Career Advisor at Sarasota High. In his spare time, Coach Campbell enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren. He has one daughter and three sons and two grandchildren

Camp Details

Instruction will develop fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork, specific positions, team play, and game situations.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Age: 6-14
  • Camp Type: Half Day Camp
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Check-In: 30 minutes prior to camp start time
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Campers bring their own health snack and water bottle.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Daily Football Instruction
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Nike Football Camp T-Shirt, Cinch Sack, Wristband, Sticker, and potentially other prizes!

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.
  • Facility: Outdoor Fields
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

INSTRUCTION

  • Offensive Skills: Specific Position Skill Work, Hand-Eye Coordination, Ball Handling and Position, Passing Drills, Catching Drills, Proper Grip and Throwing, Running Routes
  • Defensive Skills: Specific Position Skill Work, Explanation of Defenses (Zone/Man-to-Man), Footwork

HEALTH & RELEASE FORMS

All registered campers are required to have a parent or legal guardian fill out US Sports Camps’ mandatory Health & Release Forms online before arrival at camp. This camp does NOT require a doctor's signature on the forms.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Skills Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/LEAGUE DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
