at Nike Football Skills Camps

Learn how to play the game the right way at our Nike Football Skills Development Camp Lasorda Legacy Academy in Johnstown, CO in the summer of 2026. Nike Football Camps provides campers with some of the best training in the area. Camp Director and former starting Quarterback at Northern Colorado University, Jacob Knipp, invites All positions (including OL and DL) to take advantage of this specialized training to learn proper football techniques and improve your all around game.

We welcome athletes of all abilities to this camp as the coaches will work tirelessly to make sure campers are hitting their goals for the week. This camp will be mixed with offense and defense the entire time as campers are learning fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork and position specific drills. This camp offers a great opportunity for any young athlete looking to improve their game, have fun, make new friends, and raise their confidence.     Director

    Jacob was born and raised in Arvada, CO. He was a five-year starting quarterback at the University of Northern Colorado. He holds every freshman quarterback record at UNC and is top 5 in every category of all time. He was also a 5-time team captain which is the standing NCAA record. Post college, Jacob spent one year with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL.

    - Passed for 2,852 yards completing 61.0 percent of his passes leading to 16 touchdowns.
    - Ran 80 times for 101 yards.
    - Went over 300 yards passing three times, including a season-high of 411 at Northern Arizona.
    - Had a season-high three touchdowns against Idaho State and North Dakota.
    - Ran for 127 yards against Portland State.
    - Finished career third in passing yards (6,980) and fourth in touchdown passes (44).
    - His 2,852 yards passing were the third most in UNC history.
    - Academic All-Big Sky member

    2018
    - Played in three games as the team's starting QB before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
    - Passed for 596 yards completing 64.8% of his passes.
    - Threw four touchdown passes and three interceptions.
    - Academic All-Big Sky member.

    2017
    - Played in the teams first four and a half games before an injury sat forced him to miss the rest of the season.
    - In that time he completed 62.8 percent of his passes leading to 1,352 yards through the air and nine touchdowns.
    - Had a career best game against Idaho State completing 20 of his 26 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns.

    2016
    - Knipp played well in the first half of the season opener against Rocky Mountain College.
    - He suffered an injury in the team's second games versus Abilene Christian after just three snaps, ending his season.

    2015
    - Took over the starting QB job in week 4 of the season.
    - Racked up 1,969 yards throughout the air
    - Broke all freshman passing records for yards, touchdowns and completions.
    - Started eight games, but played in all 11.
    - Threw 13 TD passes with 10 INTs.
    - Rushed for 117 yards and added 5 TDs on the ground.
    - Tied record for most rushing TDs in one game by a QB with 3 against UC Davis on 10/17/15.
    - Completed 157-265 passes for 59.2%.
    - Averaged 196.2 yards a game.

    2014
    - Redshirted

    High School: First team all-conference MVP his junior and senior season. Named First-Team All-State as a senior. Team captain. Helped lead Ralston Valley to the league championship in 2012. Holds every passing record at Ralston Valley as well as the State all-time passing completion record. Member of the National Honor Society.

    Personal: Dad and Mom are David and Lisa and one younger sister Riley.

  • Shane Solberg Lasorda

    Shane Solberg was born and raised in northwest Iowa before moving to Northern Colorado after college. During his college career at Northwestern (IA), he was a 3x NAIA all-American receiver. He totaled 4,775 receiving yards, 49 TDs, and 282 receptions (all currently school records).

    He was also selected as a team captain for 3 years and was nominated for the William V. Campbell trophy his senior year. After college, he attended and performed in various CFL/UFL tryouts and also had a pro day in front of NFL scouts. Now, he’s using his experience to train the next generation of receivers with his Solberg Receiver School.

Camp Details

Instruction will develop fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork, offensive and defensive skills, team play, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

  • Dates: June 8-11, 2026 | July 6-9, 2026 | July 20-23, 2026
  • Age Group: 8-13
  • Camp Type: Half Day | Day Camp
  • Half Day Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Day Schedule: Monday-Tuesday, 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided

Please Note: This camp will be mixed with offense and defense the entire time. All positions are welcome including OL and DL.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers.
