    Dave Adams (MN State, Mankato '04) enters his first year on the Augsburg University football coaching staff in 2025, serving as special teams coordinator and safeties coach.

    Previous Coaching Experience:

    Adams has coached high school and collegiate football for over twenty years. He most recently served as an offensive assistant at St. Olaf College for two years, working with wide receivers and as a senior offensive assistant. During his time at St. Olaf, the 2024 team produced the best record (7-3) in 12 years. Both years saw proficient offensive attacks, with the second-ranked MIAC offense in 2023 and the third in 2024.

    Adams's coaching history includes two NJCAA national championships, four collegiate conference championships, and high school section and conference championships. He coached the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year while at Rochester Community and Technical College in defensive tackle Dustin Loomen, who holds school records (2 years) for career sacks (27), tackles for loss (64), and safeties (3.5). Adams's experience spans the NCAA, NJCAA, high school, and semi-pro levels as head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, and position coach roles.

    Personal/Family Notes:

    Adams is a retired Minnesota Army National Guard officer who teaches business education at Roseville Area High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from MSU Mankato in 2004 and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Augsburg University in 2020. A native of Dodge Center, MN, Adams and his wife Patti have five children, Keaton, Amelia, Brielle, Ava, and Elise, and they live in the west metro.

    Eric Pulley is in his seventh season as the running backs coach for the St. Olaf football program in 2024-25.

    During his time on the Hill, St. Olaf has produced five All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) selections at running back, landing an honoree at the position in every season from 2018-23 (2020 season canceled). In 2023, Jordan Embry earned his third consecutive First Team All-MIAC accolade and his second consecutive D3football.com
    First Team All-Region 6 honor.

    Embry led the MIAC in carries (245), rushing yards (1,167), rushing yards per game (129.7), and rushing touchdowns (12), while ranking 10th in the country in rushing yards per game and 18th in rushing yards. He closed out his career as the program's all-time leader in carries (769) while ranking second in rushing yards (3,693), second in rushing yards per game (97.2), third in rushing touchdowns (31), third in touchdowns scored (32), fourth in points scored (192), seventh in all-purpose yards (3,985), seventh in all-purpose yards per game (104.8), 10th in total offense (3,896), and 10th in yards per carry (4.80).

    Prior to coming to St. Olaf, Pulley was a passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Burnsville High School in 2017. From 2014-16, he was an assistant coach at Chaska High School and spent two years at the University of St. Thomas from 2009-11 as the running backs coach. In 2008, Pulley was the offensive coordinator for Burnsville High School. He served as the running backs coach for Macalester College from 2006-07.

    Pulley received his Associate of Arts degree in business administration in 2008 from Colorado Technical University.

    He currently resides in Burnsville with his wife, Jennifer. They have two adult children, Josiah and Jada.

    Joe McPherson serves as varsity head coach and on the Orono Youth Football Board in a non-voting capacity. Since taking over the Orono Varsity Football program in 2019, Joe has led the team on a steady climb, highlighted by a Section Championship and State Semi-Finals appearance in 2021 and another Section Championship in 2023. The Spartans are a team on the rise under Coach McPherson!

    Joe graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. While at UNO, he participated in the baseball program all four years. After graduation, Joe moved to SD briefly until he married his wife, Kathryn. They live in Orono and are the proud parents of two children, Morgan and Brady. Outside of coaching, Joe ran and recently sold his share of ownership in his own construction company in Maple Plain (Gordon James Construction). He is now an in-demand business consultant.

    Every year, Joe and his coaching staff work to improve participation in all sports by increasing knowledge of the sport throughout the school and having a philosophy of working hard and having fun every day. Joe follows five key components when it comes to sports in general:

    4.) BE A COMPETITOR (Get After It – Compete Hard)

    5.) Treat everyone (including opponents) with respect

    Joe's other hobbies include spending time with his wife & kids, coaching his children, hunting, fishing & golf.

Camp Details

Instruction will develop fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork, offensive and defensive skills, team play, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

  • Lunch: Lunch will not be provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Offensive Skills: Specific Position Skill Work, Hand-Eye Coordination, Ball Handling and Position, Passing Drills, Catching Drills, Proper Grip and Throwing, Running Routes
  • Defensive Skills: Specific Position Skill Work, Explanation of Defenses (Zone/Man-to-Man), Footwork, Defensive Fundamentals and Tackling Techniques
  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
