While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Gymnastics Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your athlete's experience:
- Preschool - Ages 4-6
- Beginner (Ages: 6-12): This level is for athletes with little to no formal gymnastics training. Beginners may have some experience in recreational gymnastics up to USAG Level 2, and are eager to build their foundational skills in a supportive, structured environment.
- Intermediate (Ages 6-12): Athletes at this level have a solid understanding of basic gymnastics and can safely perform skills such as cartwheels, handstands, and pull-overs without a coach’s spot. They may have taken recreational gymnastics classes up to USAG Level 4 and are ready to refine their technique and progress to more advanced skills.
- Advanced (Ages 6-12): This level is for athletes who have reached a high level of proficiency, typically training in or having completed USAG Level 7 gymnastics classes. Athletes at this level are confident in performing advanced skills like back handsprings and high bar jumps, and are ready to tackle more complex, challenging elements to further refine their technique and expand their skill set.
