"Santa Cruz is an ideal place for any runner. The proximity to the ocean and the countless trails in the redwood forest make training a breeze,” says Coach Klech. ”Our staff does an incredible job in breakout sessions talking about injury prevention, training philosophy, and goal setting. We try to make a full well-rounded experience for every camper which gives them the tools to pursue their running at a high level."

"It’s hard not to choose a location like Santa Cruz for your summer training. With Coach Klech as the camp director, daily runs on redwood tree-lined trails, and non-stop views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a winning formula.” says Jan O’Connor, EVP of US Sports Camps. “Coach Klech brings his experience, enthusiasm and love of the sport, inspiring those kids who are lucky enough to attend.”

The Nike Cross Country Camp at UC Santa Cruz is open to runners ages 12-18, with overnight and extended day options available. Campers reside in the dorms at UC Santa Cruz and eat in the campus dining facility.
