Green Mountain Running Camp Showcases Experienced and Knowledgeable Guest Speakers

The Green Mountain Running Camp in Lyndonville, Vermont, offers exceptional speakers to motivate our runners at camp.  In addition to the talks, campers run on backcountry dirt roads, cross country trails in evergreen forests and sun drenched meadows and jump into mountain streams  to cool down.  Campers leave sessions inspired and uplifted by these outstanding experts in their field.

Session 1, July 29-August 4, 2012:
Ian Brooks: Celebrity announcer, The Armory, NYC.
Marcus O'Sullivan: Director of Villanova Track & Field; Villanova men’s cross country and track & field coach; four-time Olympian and three-time World Indoor champion.

Session 2, August 5-11, 2012:

Mark Coogan: Dartmouth women's cross country coach and former Olympian.
Andrea Grove McDonough: University of Connecticut head coach women’s cross country and assistant women's track & field coach.
Marcus O'Sullivan: Director of Villanova Track & Field; Villanova men’s cross country and track & field coach; four-time Olympian and three-time World Indoor champion.

Session 3, August 12-18, 2012:
Eric Blake: Central Connecticut College men’s and women’s head cross country coach; veteran of the United States Mountain Running team.
Ian Brooks: celebrity announcer, The Armory, NYC.
Andrea Grove McDonough: University of Connecticut women’s cross country coach and women's track & field assistant coach.
Jim Mitchell: Bronxville High School, New York- one of the most successful high school cross country programs in the state—if not the nation. Four national championship relays, 10 state cross country championships.

Other hopefuls:  John Parker: Author of the cult classic novel “Once a Runner” and the more recently published “Again to Carthage.”

With this being an Olympic year, Nike athletes who are Olympic hopefuls may be in attendance only if they are injured or fail to qualify for the team.

The lineup is subject to change based on unforeseen conflicts in speakers’ schedules. 

At NIKE Running Camps, our goal is to stimulate a love for running and aid runners to become better, faster and smarter athletes.  Educational and inspirational experiences are provided for campers 12-18 years old, all skill levels and abilities. 

Nike Running Camp locations include: Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA; High Altitude Cross Country Camp, Kirkwood, CA; Winona State University, Winona, MN; Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH;  Five-Star Cross Country Camp at Iroquois Springs, Rock Hill, NY; SUNY Cortland, Cortland, NY; University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA; Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT; The Newtown Hawks Track & Field Camp, Newtown, CT;  Green Mountain Running Camp, Lyndonville, VT and the Smoky Mountain Running Camp, Asheville, NC.  Also offered are coaches’ workshops at the Green Mountain Running Camp, Lyndonville, VT and the Smoky Mountain Running Camp, Asheville, NC.
