Smoky Mountain Running Camp Caps off Epic 2018

Smrc Camp Wrap Up 2018

As the summer of 2018 comes to conclusion, runners from across the country say goodbye to Smoky Mountain Running Camp. The Nike Running Camp, hosted at the University of North Carolina, Asheville, has attracted athletes for over 45 years. Each summer hundreds of runners of all ages convene at camp. Athletes spend their days on beautifully scenic running trails, enjoy one-on-one feedback from coaches, collegiate and professional athletes, and participate in fun group activities and lectures. The camp offers three sessions each summer dedicated to middle school, high school and coach attendees.

Following camp athletes and coaches depart with a fresh perspectives and new skills to fuel success in their upcoming cross-country season. What draws campers back year after year? “The comradery, energy, and atmosphere at Smoky Mountain is unmatched,” says Jan O’Connor, Executive Vice President of US Sports Camps. “You know it’s a special place when parents are asking for next years dates the moment the athletes leave,” says O’Connor.

The Smoky Mountain Running Camp will continue its tradition in 2019 when dates are released later this fall.
