This sport performance D.U.N.K. Camp combines the discipline, upforce, neuropower, and kinetics needed to create optimal explosive power. Learn how to jump higher, run faster, land safely, and become more explosive—all while developing the foundation to also prevent injuries.

    Saidah Jones

    Head Varsity Track & Field / Cross Country Coach

    Saidah Jones is the Head Varsity Track & Field Coach and Head Varsity Cross Country Coach at The Lovett School. A three-time All-American at the University of Tennessee and a 2000 Olympic Trials qualifier, Coach Jones brings elite experience and a strong passion for developing student-athletes.

    She is also known for her work in biomechanics and sports performance by training competitive high school and professional athletes in all sports. Jones teaches physical education running at Georgia Tech and is a lululemon legacy ambassador. She holds multiple certifications including: USATF Level One, NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, USATF Academy Strength and Conditioning and Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

    She has also achieved great success coaching at the high school level, adding championship experience to our programs.

    Camp Director

    Directing camp this summer is Ted Gilbreath. Coach Gilbreath is the Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach at Lovett School since 2019.

    Coaching History: 200 wins as a varsity lacrosse coach. Three-time conference coach of the year, five-time conference champions, coach of the New England Private School Athletic Conference Champions. Twice selected to present at the US Lacrosse National Coaches Convention.

2026 OVERVIEW

  • Dates: June 22-26, 2026 (Monday-Friday)
  • Age Group: 12-17
  • Gender: Co-ed
  • Camp Type: Full / Half Day Camp
  • Schedule:
    • Full Day: 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday
    • Half Day: 9:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Frida
  • Check-In: 9:00am at Murray Athletic Center

  • Lunch: Lunch is provided for the full day camp session (9:00am-3:00pm) and the fee is included in camp tuition cost. All campers should bring a filled water bottle each day.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

  • Extra Athletic clothing
  • 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Small gym bag/backpack

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Sample Daily Schedule

9:30-11:30 AM — Outdoor Performance Training Focus Areas: ● Explosiveness & vertical jump work ● Plyometrics and jump mechanics ● Dynamic movement & change-of-direction ● Speed development (acceleration, first step, lateral quickness) ● Agility circuits and reaction drills ● Mobility + injury-prevention training (ankles, knees, hips) ● Cool-down & recovery stretch

12:00-12:30 PM — Lunch Break ● Supervised lunch area ● Hydration + sunscreen reapply ● Light recovery/stretch option

1:00-3:00 PM — Basketball Skill + Recovery Block

Basketball Skill Work (Gym) ● Dunk approach mechanics (age/skill appropriate) ● Explosive finishes at the rim ● Shooting stations (form work → game-speed reps) ● Ball-handling & dribble-attack work ● Small-sided games & competitive drills

Strength, Recovery & Pool Time Rotating stations include: ● Strength training for vertical jump & power (hips/core/posterior chain) ● Mobility & stabilization for knee and ankle health ● Pool-based recovery, movement, and cooldown ● Guided stretching and soft-tissue work
