Come join us this summer at The Nike Swim Camp at Adelphi University. The 75-acre Adelphi campus is only 45 minutes from New York City.

This camp, led by the Head Coach of Adelphi Swimming, Marc Danin, is designed to help competitive swimmers improve their stroke technique so they can compete at the next level. Our goal at Nike Swim Camp has always been to engage and inspire each swimmer at camp and instill positive character traits such as confidence, self-motivation, and a passion for the sport.

This camp is open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend that you have competitive swimming experience (e.g., U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast, and freestyle.

    Marc Danin

    Camp Director

    Directing camp is Marc Danin, the Head Coach of Adelphi Swimming. No stranger to the Long Island swimming scene, Danin is the owner of the Islanders Aquatics Club, based out of Suffolk County, which he started in 2011. There, he is responsible for managing three accredited USA Swimming competitive clubs through direct oversight of registration, hiring, event coordination, training plan development, and budget management.

    In 2014, Danin took over as the Director of Aquatics and Head Varsity Coach at the Stony Brook School, where he spearheaded the formation of a girls' and boys' varsity swimming and diving program. He coordinated logistical aspects of competitions, swim camps, and clinics generating $100,000 in revenue for the program, all while building it into the successful program it is today.

    On the club level, he has trained and developed top eight and under, Silver, Junior Olympic, Zone, Top 16, Junior National, Futures, National and Senior National Qualifiers and Paralympic Trial qualifier in 2020.

    A 1994 graduate of Stony Brook University, Danin swam competitively for four years with the Seawolves, earning MVP honors in the 1992-93 season with an All-American honor to boot in the backstroke.

*Please Note: Last year, camp sessions SOLD OUT at this location*. You can expect a high demand on these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This summer, Nike Swim Camps is offering one session of day camp (9:00am-3:00pm) for ages 9-14. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed in groups with other swimmers having similar abilities and goals. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate your needs, keeping in consideration your experience and desire to improve.

  • Program: The Stroke Technique program is designed to provide competitive swimmers with a better understanding of swimming fundamentals. Stroke refinement along with constructive feedback will be the focus of the camp and allows each participant to gain a greater knowledge of proper stroke mechanics and ways to improve themselves individually.

  • Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.

CAMP CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Monday, June 29th through Thursday, July 2nd

  • Check-in Monday at 8:30am at the Arvilla E. Nolan Pool located in Woodruff Hall.
  • Check-out: There will be a brief closing ceremony at 2:30pm at the pool. ALL CAMPERS must depart immediately following the closing ceremony.

There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your child on time.

MEALS

Lunch is not provided. Please bring a healthy lunch and snacks each day.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers will receive a Nike Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the director's discretion.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your water swimsuit, swim cap, goggles and towel(s)
  • Facility: Arvilla E. Nolan Pool located in Woodruff Hall
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
