    Camp Director

Delia returns for 12th year overall at the helm of the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's swimming programs after previously serving as head coach from 2011-22. Under his leadership, Delia has taken the Diplomats to unprecedented heights, including the men's team earning the program's highest-ever NCAA finish (17th) in program history behind 20 All-Americans efforts. That group included a pair of Olympic Trials qualifiers in Chris Schiavone '22 and Brendan Cline '22.

During his tenure at F&M, the Diplomats have produced 121 All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team recipients, while capturing 59 gold medals at the CC Championship meet. His swimmers have also performed well on the national stage as the men’s side has been crowned with 47 All-America accolades, while the women’s side has garnered three All-America certificates. The Diplomats earned a combined 32 All-Centennial honors - and 25 gold medals - between the men's and women's teams during the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships.

In the 2019-20 season, F&M claimed its first undefeated dual season since 1964-65 and the team's first Centennial Conference (CC) Championship since 2010, while producing a program-record six All-Americans who earned 10 All-America certificates. The team's promising season was unfortunately cut short due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Championships. F&M was seeded a program-best 17th heading into the event and Christopher Schiavone held the nation's No. 1 seed with the fastest time in the 100-yard Free. In addition to the outstanding postseason results from the 2021-22 season, the team additionaly came within one dual of another undefeated regular season.

Delia was chosen by his peers at the Centennial's Coach of the Year after his team won a staggering 10 out of 18 events at the 2020 CC Championship. The men's side broke 17 out of 19 school records on the year.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the men's team sent a program-high six members to NCAA Championships who brought home 10 All-America honors. F&M's women's team has seen sustained success under Delia, as Katie Grant ’15 became the first female Diplomat swimmer to earn All-America honors since 2010, claiming the nod in both the 500 and 1650 freestyle at the 2013 NCAA Championships, while Becca Meyers posted a time of 16:54.61 to take sixth place at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships.

Delia’s swimmers have also accumulated Conference honors as Thomas Graminski '22 earned the Conference's Most Outstanding Performer in 2019-20. Jillian Albus ’17 was named the CC’s Outstanding Rookie Swimmer at the 2014 CC Championships, while Bridget Dromerick swept the individual awards at the 2015 CC Champs, taking home the Most Outstanding Performer honor, as well as the Most Outstanding Rookie.

Before coming to Lancaster, Delia spent the previous four years as the head women's swimming coach at Randolph-Macon College. At Randolph-Macon, Delia’s women’s team finished second at the ODAC Championships each year and compiled a dual meet record of 27-12. Swimmers rewrote the record book 18 times, while the 2008-09 team set a program record for dual meet victories with 11. At the conference level, R-MC swimmers earned 30 All-ODAC selections, won 13 conference event championships and set 2 conference records. In 2011, Delia was named the ODAC Coach of the Year after his swimmers won 9 of 18 championship events and swept the conference postseason awards.

Delia began his coaching career with a stint as an assistant coach at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. after a successful four-year career at Hamilton College. As a student-athlete at Hamilton, Delia was a member of the All-NESCAC team and was a championship finalist on several occasions.

A native of Oswego, N.Y., Delia graduated from Hamilton in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a concentration in economics. He earned his Master's Degree in economics from Trinity College in 2007.
