    Edward Sengai

    Assistant Camp Director

In his first 2 seasons as a college coach, Edward guided the KWU Coyotes tennis teams to two consecutive national and regional NAIA Team of Character awards that reflected on the student-athletes’ commitment to others. His focus as a coach was to help develop the KWU program’s culture and help raise dedicated students who not only excel on the court, but through their efforts to others off-the-court.

In addition, he helped recruit the largest KWU class in school tennis history, bringing in a total of 17 kids including 4 from Texas (one from right here at Boerne, Tennis, too!). Edward recently earned the ITA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year Award (2021). His teams both finished top 4 of the conference tournament.

During his collegiate career that spanned 3 seasons at Bethany College, Edward had a steady playing record that earned him several conference awards that includes: KCAC Newcomer of the Year (2017), 2nd Team All-Conference (2017), Honorable Mention All-KCAC (2019), 2x KCAC Champion of Character (2017 & 2018) awards. He also earned 2 national awards notching the ITA Central Region No.9 doubles ranking and No.18 singles ranking while he played.

Sengai was a top 10 ranked Zimbabwe juniors’ player and has earned several junior national team selections and has played at various international tournaments.

Edward has been a part of the Boerne Tennis family for a while now. He has spent the last couple of summers/breaks coming back to work with Boerne Tennis junior and adult camp programs. He brings in over 8 years of coaching experience, having previously worked at several sleep away summer camps, notably taught at the Roddick Tennis Foundation in San Antonio.

Edward earned four majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics and Business Administration in 2019 from Bethany College. He most recently earned an MBA (with an emphasis in Sports Administration) from Kansas Wesleyan University in May of 2021.
