He comes to Greeneville from Quincy University where he guided the men’s and women’s programs during the 2024-2025 campaign. He mentored three All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selections as well as two GLVC Player of the Week honorees. The men’s team posted a 13-9 record as the Hawks posted a nine-win improvement from the previous season. The QU women’s team recorded eight victories, an improvement from a season ago. The women’s team also earned the GLVC Team Academic All-Conference Award and the ITA All-Academic Team Award.

While at Quincy, six of his student-athletes earned GLVC Academic All-Conference distinction including three who were named to the GLVC Council of President’s Academic Excellence Award. Two of his players also garnered the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.

Pauley, a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, served three years as the head coach at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania where he guided the tennis fortunes from 2021-2022. During his tenure at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference program, he oversaw improvement from past seasons with the KU men boasting a seven-win campaign in 2022-2023 for their highest victory tally in six seasons. The women recorded an eight-win season that year, the program’s best showing since 2013-2014.

In 2022, he was named the USTA Eastern Pennsylvania District College Coach of the Year. He coached two PSAC East All-Conference first team selections as well as the PSAC East Freshman of the Year. His men’s and women’s teams garnered ITA All-Academic Team honors all three years at Kutztown while boasting 38 PSAC Scholar-Athlete honorees.

Prior to Kutztown, Pauley spent a season as the associate head coach at Chicago State, where he led the Cougar men and women to Western Athletic Conference Championship appearances in the 2020-2021 campaign.

During the 2019-2020 season, he assumed the role of assistant coach for the men's team at Saint Louis University where the Bilikens went 5-8 to open the year before the season was cut short due to COVID-19.

Before his time as an assistant at SLU, Pauley took the reins of the UHSP St. Louis men's and women's teams for the spring of 2019, leading both teams to American Midwest Conference/Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships appearances.

The 2018 Quincy University graduate spent a season as a volunteer assistant at Missouri-St. Louis helping the Tritons during the fall season of 2018.

Pauley was a four-year starter at Quincy where he was team captain and a two-time GLVC Academic All-Conference selection along with an ITA All-Academic nod in 2016. He graduated with honors earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

SKILL LEVELS & GROUP PLACEMENT

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Campers are then sorted by ability first, then age per the Camp Director's discretion - adjustments are made as needed during camp.

While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Tennis Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your athlete's experience:

  • Beginner: Players new to the game with little to no formal tennis instruction. They are still learning the fundamentals, focusing on basic skills and rules of the game. Typically play for recreation and have minimal match-play experience.

  • Intermediate: Players who can serve and sustain rallies with consistency. They are comfortable hitting medium-paced shots but may struggle with all strokes and directional control. Some may have participated in local tournaments and possess a UTR rating or are equivalent to a High School JV player.

  • Advanced: Players with dependable strokes and solid directional control. They demonstrate a strong competitive spirit, improved court coverage, and are developing strategies for both singles and doubles play. These players frequently compete in tournaments and have a USTA or UTR rating, or are equivalent to a High School Varsity player.
