Washington State University Tennis is looking forward to welcoming you to Pullman! We will be centered around individual improvement, developing relationships and having tons of fun!

Washington State Tennis is excited to work with the next generation of aspiring tennis players. This is camp open to all levels and ages 7-18 and will have over 30hrs of tennis instruction and fun!

    Director Joshua Graetz

    Graetz arrives in Pullman having spent the past five seasons as the men’s and women’s head coach at Metropolitan State University of Denver. During his time at MSU Denver, Graetz guided the women’s program to an overall 58-44 record, while the men went 49-32. The women’s program posted winning seasons all five years, including a 14-10 record during the 2022-23 campaign, while the men’s team ended last season at 15-5 with a No. 40 national ranking. A native of Albury, Australia, Graetz enjoyed a decorated career with the Metropolitan State University of Denver tennis program from 2013 through 2018. Over the course of his playing career at MSU Denver, Graetz became the program's all-time leader in singles wins (89), No. 1 singles wins (68), doubles wins (82) and No. 1 doubles wins (70). Additionally, he was a two-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year, the RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2014 and three-time All-RMAC First -Team selection.

  • Co-Director Raquel Atawo

    Raquel Atawo is in her second season as the Cougars head coach after Washington State University Director of Athletics Pat Chun announced her as the eighth head coach in program history, July 2, 2021. During Atawo’s first season, Cougar Tennis showed improvement in multiple areas, specifially doubles play where the Cougars had a winning record in Pac-12 play. Atawo oversaw the improvement in 2022 senior Michaela Bayerlova, who became WSU’s first All-American in program history after reaching the 2022 NCAA Championship quarterfinals. Bayerlova was also WSU’s first Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year while also taking home Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The objectives of our camp are to reach each camper's specific needs for development. Campers will work on drills that develop consistency, placement, and accuracy, as well as conditioning exercises to build speed, quickness, and endurance. Each session will include team play. All sessions stress the importance of a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week-long tennis camp.

We offer an All Skills program for Day campers ages 7-18 (9:00am-3:30pm), Half Day campers ages 7-10 (9:00am-12:00pm), and Overnight campers ages 11-18. Overnight campers must be ages 11-18.

  • All Skills Program: The All Skills program is designed for tennis players of any skill level and background. Campers will learn fundamentals and improve upon their game.


  • Overnight Check-in: Overnight campers check-in at on Sunday at 4:00pm at Regents Dorm
  • Day & Half Day Check-in: Day and Half day campers check-in on Sunday at 5:00pm at the tennis courts
  • Check-out: Graduating ceremony will take place at 11:00am on Friday. All campers check-out immediately following the ceremony on Friday at 11:30am
  • Day Camp Hours: Sunday 5:00pm-7:30pm, Monday-Thursday 9:00am-3:30pm, Friday 9:00am-11:30am
  • Half Day Camp Hours: Sunday 5:00pm-7:30pm, Monday-Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm, Friday 9:00am-11:30am


  • Overnight Campers: All meals provided
  • Day Campers: Lunch is provided (Dinner is provided on the first day Sunday at 7:00pm)
  • Half Day Campers: Half day campers depart each day before lunch (Dinner is provided on the first day Sunday at 7:00pm)


  • Instruction: Daily tennis training, morning and afternoon sessions
  • Overnight Campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in rooms strategically placed throughout the dorm to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: All campers receive a Nike Tennis Camps t-shirt and prizes


  • Ratio: 6:1 camper-to-coach ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring a tennis racquet, tennis shoes, and a water bottle
  • Facility: 12 outdoor courts and 4 indoor courts
  • Inclement Weather Plan: Indoor courts are available for use as needed
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Linens: Campers must provide their linens (Twin XL)
  • Air Conditioning: Dorms DO NOT have A/C. Campers are highly encouraged to bring a fan


  • Evening Activities: May include movie night, pizza night, pickleball, and team activities
  • Weekend Stayovers: Not offered at this location


Nike Tennis Camp does not provide any transportation to/from camp from airports, train stations, or bus depots.
