She came home everyday excited that she had learned new skills and received feedback from a college student. One that was so kind and helpful towards her. The second, was the interaction she had with the Head Coach of the University. Michaela is very self motivated and driven by her own success. She is extremely dedicated to her sport and has her mind set on attending college in South Carolina. Michaela was overjoyed when she heard the coach cheering her on during the scrimmage and was proud and honored that she had been noticed. Thank you both for providing my daughter with an amazing experience she will never forget!

Join us in South Carolina for a volleyball camp led by Charleston Southern University’s coaches and players. Designed for girls and boys ages 5-18, this camp is packed with high-energy drills, skill-building sessions, and live gameplay.

This Charleston volleyball camp offers a great opportunity for players of all abilities to train, compete, and have fun in a supportive environment. Players will enhance their skills, build teamwork, and create lasting friendships while having an unforgettable experience on and off the court!

    Carry Brown is the Head Volleyball Coach at Charleston Southern University.

    Brown became the ninth Charleston Southern head volleyball coach in program history in May of 2023. She came to the Buccaneers after coaching stops at Brescia University, Kentucky Wesleyan College and most recently Florida College.

    Brown spent the last five seasons as the head coach at Florida College after taking on the role in 2018. She compiled a record of 97-74, including a 40-24 conference record, across two conferences, in that time frame. In 2022, the Falcons went 12-1 in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC), winning the conference tournament without dropping a set and earning a bid to the NAIA National Tournament. Brown’s name was popular with the end of the year awards across the CAC as she was named the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

    Along with being the Head Volleyball coach at Florida College, Brown also served the facility side of the College as a sports management professor, teaching multiple classes in the program and helping to grow the number of students in it.

    Before arriving at Florida College, Brown was at NCAA Division II program Kentucky Wesleyan College, serving three years as the Assistant Volleyball Coach, heading the recruiting efforts. Prior to that, Brown served as the Head Coach and Director of Audubon Volleyball Association (AVA) out of Owensboro, Kentucky, a club program serving many different age groups. Brown also spent two seasons as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Brescia University prior to her AVA work. While there she also served on the academic side campus as she started the sport management program at Brescia.

    Brown spent her playing days at Florida College, playing all four seasons from 2002-2005. During her stint at Florida College, she was Co-Captain from 2003-2005. She was named the team MVP in 2004, conference MVP in 2005, and named to numerous All-Tournament teams throughout the four years. She helped lead her team to win the USCAA National Championship in 2003 and 2005.

    Brown graduated from Western Kentucky University with her bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2007 and went on to complete her master’s degree in Sports Administration in 2009.

    Brown is married to her husband JB and they have two kids, Hadley and Ty.

    Emilie Selvidge enters her second season with Charleston Southern in the 2024 season. In January she was promoted to be the team's assistant coach after arriving in the summer of 2023 as a graduate assistant coach ahead the 2023 season following her graduation from Florida College.

    In December of 2023, she was named to VolleyballMag's “College Coaching Hotshot” list. This listed the top 50 up-and-coming coaches in the country across men's and women's college indoor and beach programs with Selvidge being amongst these honorees.

    With the Falcons as a student-athlete, she was selected the CAC Setter of the Year in her final two seasons, earning First-Team All-Conference honors in each. During the fall of 2022, under Head Coach Carry Brown, she helped lead the team to their first NAIA CAC Championship for the program and was selected as an NAIA All-American Honorable-Mention. The team finished with a 28-10 record, the most wins in the five years under Brown.

    Selvidge holds the program record for career assists at Florida College with 2,356. She ranked first in the CAC in assists for the 2021 and 2022 seasons as well posting 1,119 in her senior season. She set her career-high in assists with 51 against Union College on August 20, 2022.

  • Program: This All Skills camp is designed to cover the basic fundamentals of each skill set required to play volleyball. We will cover hitting, setting, blocking, defense, serve receive and serving. At the end of camp, we will scrimmage to put all the skills together. This camp is recommended for players that want to get a lot of reps in all skills and that have played less than 4 years.
ADVANCED CAMP

  • Gender/Age Group: Girls, ages 14-18/grades 9-12
  • Daily Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm each day
  • Check-in: Athletes must check in 30 minutes prior to the camp start time each day.
  • Check-Out: Athletes must check out at the end of camp each day.
  • Lunch: Lunch is provided. Snacks will be available for purchase.
  • Program: This Advanced program is designed to cover more of the strategic side of volleyball. We will also cover all skills throughout the camp. On the last day, we will scrimmage in the afternoon. This camp is recommended for advanced players that have been playing at a high level in high school and travel club volleyball.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

Please use the school entrance next to the football stadium, this road is called Buc Club Rd. The Buccaneer Fieldhouse is located on this road on the right side. The Buccaneer Fieldhouse is where you will check in. Please park in the parking lot next to the Buccaneer Fieldhouse and make your way to the front doors of the building. This is where you will drop off and pick up each day.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Lunch: Lunch is provided only for the All-Skills and Advanced camps. For all other sessions, lunch is not included. Please bring a sack lunch or snack each day.
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Volleyball Camps t-shirt and prizes. *1-day clinics excluded.
  • Volleyballs: Volleyballs are provided for instruction during camp. Campers may purchase a Camp Volleyball at the time of registration, which will be given out on the last day of camp. Fun tip: Have your camp friends sign your ball before you leave!

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience, per the Director’s discretion.
  • Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own kneepads and have at least one pair of well-broken-in volleyball (court) shoes. Campers do not need to bring their own ball.
  • Facility: Indoor courts
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNTS

If you have a group of 4 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 8 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $45 discount. Discounts are not available for camps priced at $250 or less. Please fill out the Team Discount - Volleyball form and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We cannot offer scholarships due to NCAA regulations. Our affiliation with NCAA coaches and schools puts us in a position where any scholarship money can be seen as an inducement to a future collegiate athlete. This puts our coaches and our host universities in jeopardy of damaging their status with the NCAA and incurring penalties at the hands of their organizing body.

Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

  • Absolutely! Campers are encouraged to attend multiple sessions. Each program delivers something unique to help players excel in all areas of the game. Many campers will attend more than one session to further refine their skills, compete against new players, or choose a session with a different program focus.
