at Nike Volleyball Camps

Experience a high-energy volleyball camp in summer 2026 at Los Angeles High School! Open to girls ages 10–16, this camp welcomes players of all experience levels who want to improve and enjoy the game.

With guidance from a skilled coaching staff, athletes will focus on building strong fundamentals, learning new techniques, and playing in competitive matchups. Players from Southern California and beyond will train in a positive, motivating setting that encourages growth, teamwork, and confidence on the court.

Jason Olive

Director

Jason Olive is a volleyball player and coach with an extensive background in both indoor and beach volleyball.

Coach Olive played in the California State Finals for St. Bernard Highschool and qualified for his first professional Beach Open the same year. Coach Olive then accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. While at Hawai'i Jason set many school volleyball records, was awarded the inaugural Governor's Award for Academic Excellence, was named the University's top Scholar-Athlete, received the Jack Bonham Award for academic excellence, athletic accomplishment and community service, was a member of the Deans List every year while leading The Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors to their first ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four. Coach Olive was named to the Outrigger All Tournament Team, Asics Gran Prix All Tournament Team, Molsen Classic All-Tournament Team and a First Team All MPSF and First Team All-American. His team was ranked #2 in the nation in 1995 and set the national attendance record for the entire sport at over 10,000 people a game en route to becoming the MPSF Pacific Division Champions. Many of Coach Oliveʻs records still stand within the top 10 all-time in University of Hawai’i history. In 2024 Coach Olive won the USAV Masters Division National Open Gold Medal with Balboa Bay. Coach loves sharing his unique vision of the sport which has been informed by some of the greatest coaches and players in the game. From the first day of volleyball to preparing for professional competition, Coach Olive enjoys passing down the rules and secrets to the art of the game. Coach Olive is the Founder of the Hawaiian Island Volleyball Festival held every June in Honolulu.

LAVBC Director Kamalu Makekau-Whittaker, takes over as LAVB Director in 2025. Kamalu finished her stellar NCAA Division 1 career in 2019 where she was the starting setter for the Cal State Northridge Matadors. This was after spending several season on the USA Volleyball High Performance team as a youth.While at CSUN Kamlu trained under Gold Medal setter Jeff Stork. Kamalu Makekau-Whittaker led the Matadors with a career-high 412 assists (4.85 aps) while also recording 128 digs and serving eight aces and averaged 5.10 assists per set in Big West matches which ranked 10th among all conference setters.Coach Makekau-Whittaker heads LAVBC setter training and has podiumed numerous times as a club Head Coach including the 2025 Open u17 Coastal Combine Gold Medal, the 2024 u12 Summer Soiree Gold Medal, the 2023 Far Western American Gold Medal, the 2022 PVL Gold Gold Medal and many others. Coach Kamalu is the Head Volleyball Coach of Brentwood Highschool.

JULY 20-23 | AUGUST 3-6: ALL SKILLS

Open To: Girls, Ages 10-16
Daily Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm
Check-In: 8:30am on Day 1
Lunch: Lunch is not provided. Campers should bring their own lunch.
Program: Offers high-energy training focused on fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Athletes will build a solid foundation and boost confidence in a positive, energetic environment. Recommended for all positions and abilities. Campers may be grouped by age, skill, or experience at the Director’s discretion.

Please note: Camp schedules and details are subject to change. If important updates occur before camp begins, we’ll notify registered campers by email and update this webpage.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

Instruction: Daily volleyball training
Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Volleyball Camps t-shirt and prizes. *1-day clinics excluded.
Volleyballs: Volleyballs are provided for instruction during camp. Campers may purchase a Camp Volleyball at the time of registration, which will be given out on the last day of camp. Fun tip: Have your camp friends sign your ball before you leave!
Facility: Indoor courts
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Transportation: Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNTS

If you have a group of 4 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 8 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $45 discount. Discounts are not available for camps priced at $250 or less. Please fill out the Team Discount - Volleyball form and we will create a unique discount code for your group.

Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

Los Angeles High School is where campers will have the opportunity to play on the indoor courts.

FAQ

Absolutely! Campers are encouraged to attend multiple sessions. Each program delivers something unique to help players excel in all areas of the game. Many campers will attend more than one session to further refine their skills, compete against new players, or choose a session with a different program focus.
If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund.

Yes! To save your spot at camp, a deposit is due at registration:
- $150 for Day and Half Day camps
- $300 for Overnight and Extended Day camps
- Camps under $150 must be paid in full at registration.
Your remaining balance is due on the 1st of the month before your camp begins:
- June camps → due May 1
- July camps → due June 1
- August camps → due July 1
Any camper with an unpaid balance 10 days before camp will forfeit all fees paid and be removed from the camp.
