Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps is proud to offer Day Camps at the beautiful Monarch Bay Golf Club. Situated just 15 minutes from the Oakland Airport with spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay, our facility features a combination of traditional, tree-lined fairways and links-style holes.
Full Day Camps
The students in the full day camp enjoy three hours of instruction each morning. This instruction works on all facets of the game and prepares the junior player for the challenges of the course. After lunch, it’s off to the first tee to play nine holes. During course play the staff teaches strategy, etiquette and course management. The Full Day Camp is designed to create complete golfers and raise their game to the next level.
Half Day Camps
This program offers campers of all abilities the opportunity to work on and improve every aspect of their game. A Half Day camper will receive three hours of instruction each day including putting, chipping, bunker play and full swing. From beginning players to advanced, these are great camps for anyone who wants to improve.
Highlights Include
- Small group instruction with low student/teacher ratio from experienced PGA professionals
- Daily course play with the staff (9 holes) focusing on course management, shot selection, strategy, rules and etiquette (Full Day Camp only)

John Bearden
John has been at Monarch Bay Golf Club for the past 8 years focusing on golf instruction for new golfers and intermediate players through the Tee It Up group programs, Nike Golf Camps and other clinics. Prior to Monarch Bay, John served a local private club for 20 years serving as club manager for six years and head golf professional for 14 years. He is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Instructor Level 1 and 2.
The main reason for the growth and positive reputation of Monarch's camps is due to the highly trained teaching staff. The majority of the instructors are teaching professionals who have taught the summer camps at Monarch Bay for 2-10 years. Besides having fun in the camps, the juniors will come away with a greatly improved game due to the instructors' enthusiasm and commitment to their students.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 9:00am Instruction - practice on skills and fundamentals; grip, stance, posture, pitching, putting, bunker play and full swing
- Noon Lunch (Included in camp price, day campers depart)
- 1:00pm Course play with staff (9 holes). Focus on strategy, course management, shot selection, rules and etiquette
- 4:00pm Full Day campers depart

- A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring.
