Camp Overview

Welcome to the new home of Nike Soccer Camps with Dave DiTomasso, formerly held in Elmhurst.

Join us this summer for the Nike Soccer Camp in Oak Brook, Illinois the new home of the former Elmhurst camps. Directing the camp will be Dave DiTomasso former Head Men's Soccer Coach at Elmhurst University and Pablo Aguillar head coach of three teams with Empire FC.

The camp is designed for boys and girls, of all abilities, ages 6-17. The focus at camp will be to develop athletically, refine their fundamental skills and enhance their technique, players will also get to develop position-specific skills via focused training. An amazing opportunity for any player to learn from a top college coaching staff and supplement their training in a fun and competitive setting!

    Coach Dave grew up Columbia, MD up until 18 years old, having some of the best coaches and playing on some of the top youth teams in the nation. While in High School he won Two State Championships and played in a third. His collegiate career started at The Ohio State University and then transferred to Jacksonville University, FL where he flourished with under Head Coach Denis Violet. (Manchester United) As a former professional player, Di Tomasso was a member of the United Systems of Independent Soccer League (USISL) Division III South Carolina Shamrocks and Baltimore Bays; and the "A" League Worcester Wildfire. He also played in Essen, Germany, for Schwarz Weiss Essen, a Third Division team.

    Dave saw the opportunity to continue in coaching, as he had already had a successful coaching career during his time as a player. He took the job at Elmhurst College and never looked back, basically starting two NCAA Programs from scratch. He has been extremely successful with a .678 winning percentage playing in the toughest conference in America. His teams have been Nationally Ranked, won titles, and compete for Championships every year. Since arriving in Illinois Dave has been apart and coached teams involved in: State Titles, tournament wins, worked with Illinois ODP, is on the NSCAA National Staff and worked for many solid organizations as a club coach and director. Dave holds a Master’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (2001), and runs and operates some of the most successful camps in the Chicagoland area.

    As a former college player at Vanguard University, Pablo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Empire FC Coaching Staff.

    Pablo grew up playing club soccer in Southern California. He played for some of the top clubs in the area such as Laguna Niguel FC (Now Laguna United), Strikers FC and Pateadores FC. During his club career he was selected for CalSouth ODP and captained his club team to multiple championships along with a #18 national ranking. Pablo had a standout career at Mater Dei High School as a four-year starter and receiving Trinity League honors. After graduating from Mater Dei in 2016, Pablo played at Vanguard University and made three trips to the National tournament, two of which were trips to the Sweet 16. Pablo also helped Vanguard climb the rankings, reaching the #8 ranking in NAIA.

    Pablo currently serves as the head coach for 3 teams at Empire FC.

    EJ grew up playing soccer for the Chicago Magic and Lemont Raiders as a Goalkeeper and attending Victor J. Andrew High School before signing to play College soccer for University of Illinois at Springfield(NCAA D2). EJ currently resides in Frankfort, IL with his Wife Sammy and their two cats Stormy and Foggy.

    After a successful career as a two year captain at Elmhurst, Matt went on to pursue a professional soccer career in Europe, South & Central America becoming one of the first Americans to play in multiple leagues. After finding success at the pro level, Matt comes back to the Chicago area to work with Elmhurst University as an assistant on the Men’s Soccer team and working here with Chicago Empire.

    As a former collegiate and UPSL player at Alvernia University and Reading United AC, Austin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Empire FC Coaching Staff.

    Austin grew up playing club soccer in Eastern Pennsylvania. He played for Reading Rage SC, which has since transitioned to Reading Rage Surf. During his club career he captained his team who went on to win a Presidents Cup Championship, Regional Championship, and National Finalists as well as being selected for a national ODP camp in Florida. Austin had a standout career at Fleetwood Area High School as a four-year starter and helping his team to a District Championship and State championship his senior season. After graduating from Fleetwood in 2015, Austin played at Alvernia University where again he was a four-year starter helping his team to an ECAC Championship. Austin ended his collegiate career finished tied for third for the most assists in a single season. During his Junior and Senior off-seasons at Alvernia, Austin spent time playing for Reading United’s UPSL team.

    Austin currently serves as the head coach for 5 teams at Chicago Empire FC

This program is geared toward Player Development & High-Performance campers. Players will work on mastering the proper fundamentals, techniques and advancing their overall skills and knowledge of the game. A great opportunity for players to learn through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. With a number of different camp options for all to enjoy!

NEW LOCATION NEW POSSIBILITIES

The Oak Brook Sports Core Soccer Complex, just a few miles down the street, is home to some of the highest quality grass fields in the Midwest. Boasting 5 full-size fields and 6 multi-size alternative fields, these fields are designed to mimic the experience of playing on a golf course fairway, ensuring the safety and comfort of our players.

SKILL LEVELS

Player Development is for campers of all skill levels. These camps are designed to maximize player participation and ensure each camper develops in all aspects of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Coaches will implement a wide range of technical, physical, and tactical activities with a focus on fun so campers get to improve with a smile on their faces.

High Performance is for campers looking to improve their game in a fun and fast-paced environment. These camps are designed so players leave the camp week more prepared for their club and high school seasons. Experienced coaches will provide campers with a fresh perspective and challenge them to develop technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of their game through a progressive curriculum.

*NOTE: If you believe your camper should be in a different skill level than the age requirement listed, please add a note at check-out and mention it to the camp director on day 1.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from Grant Sicard & Dave di Tomasso and their coaching staff
  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities
  • Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
  • Facility: Oak Brook Sports Core
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital
  • Indoor Air-Conditioned Location: A dedicated space for lunches and a video room, ensuring comfort during breaks.
  • Additional Facilities: Permanent soccer tennis courts, a pool, VEO Instructional cameras, a locker room, and more, providing a diverse and enriching experience.

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

  • Athletic clothing
  • Soccer Cleats (no metal studs)

  • Small gym bag/backpack

SOCCER BALLS

Nike Soccer Camp Balls can be purchased during registration. Players can choose between a size 3, 4 or 5 ball, which will be shipped out once the order has processed. Please note that it is not required to bring a soccer ball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
