Join us for another great summer at the Nike Baseball Camp at Grizzlies Ballpark in Sauget, IL … Home of the minor league Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League! Camp will be directed by manager, Steve Brook. This is a fun, intensive summer camp where campers take their baseball game to the next level.
Campers will learn how to approach the sport the right way as they fine-tune their fielding, hitting, base-running skills, and enhance their knowledge of the game, all while having an awesome time and making new friends. Athletes of all abilities are welcome to join. We looking forward to seeing new and returning faces at Grizzlies Ballpark!

The third-winningest manager in Frontier League history, Steve Brook will once again skipper the Grizzlies in 2025, his fourth season in Sauget.

Pitching Coach Nick Kennedy
Nick Kennedy will be back in the dugout as the Grizzlies’ pitching coach in 2025, his fourth season with the club under Brook. A former all-star relief pitcher as a player, until this past season held the Frontier League record for career appearances, he guided the Grizzlies’ pitching staff to another outstanding year on the mound in 2024.

Bench Coach Alex Ferguson
Bench coach Alex Ferguson will return in 2025, assisting the club with various duties throughout the summer and bringing even more experience to the coaching staff.

Hitting Coach Kyle Gaedele
2025 will by Kyle Gaedele’s third season with the Grizzlies as the hitting coach. This past season, Gateway ranked sixth out of 16 teams in the Frontier League with a .263 batting average while also placing inside the league’s top-10 in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, home runs, runs scored, walks, and stolen bases, with the veteran also serving as a player/coach.

Camp Details
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

2025 SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION
- Dates: July 7-9, 2025; Gateway Grizzlies Game vs. Joliet Slammers on Thursday, July 10th.
- Age Group: 7-13
- Camp Type: Day Camp
- Schedule: Monday 9:00am-2:00pm, Tuesday-Wednesday 9:00am-12:00pm, Thursday- Gateway Grizzlies GAME!
- Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring lunch on day 1 and snacks each day.
- Gateway Grizzlies vs. Joliet Slammers on July 10 (Camper ticket provided).
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Daily Baseball Instruction
- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.
Facility: Outdoor Fields. No Indoor Facility.
Emphasis of Training:
- Hitting: Swing Technique & Philosophy, Bunting, Situational Hitting, Plate Approach and Focus.
- Defense: Hands Development, Positioning & Footwork, Communication, Cuts, Relays and Rundowns, Catching Footwork and Throwing.
- Pitching: Throwing Mechanics, Wind-up & Stretch, Location & Deception, Pick-Offs, Care, Recovery & Prevention.
- Baserunning: Lead offs, Stealing, Decision-Making and Picking up 3rd Base Coach

MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRAVEL
Nike Baseball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT
If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.

Show Less See More Camp DetailsThe Grizzlies ballpark was built in time for the start of the 2002 season, under the original name of GMC Stadium. It soon changed to GCS Credit Union Ballpark. In 2023, Grizzlies Ballpark was renamed. Grizzlies Ballpark features reserved box seating, lawn seating, party suites, a hot tub suite, and a section of bleacher seating. With the bleacher section added in 2004, the stadium's capacity has increased to 6,000 fans (8,000 expanded).
