The Complete Skills Clinic helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing, or guard position.

Head Coach Marlon Sears
Hired in the summer of 2020, Marlon Sears is set to hit the sidelines for his first season as head coach of the Amherst College men's basketball program in 2020-2021. Before rejoining Columbia a year ago, Sears served as the head coach at Division III Montclair State (N.J.) University from 2015-19, where he led the Red Hawks to some of the most successful seasons in the program's history.View Marlon's Bio ⟩
His teams compiled a 59-46 record (a .561 winning percentage) and Sears mentored seven All-Academic honorees, six All-Conference players and a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and D3hoops.com Regional Rookie of the Year. The Red Hawks' 18 wins during the 2017-18 season marked the highest win total for the program in seven seasons, while its 79.1 points per contest was the program's highest single-season average in 24 years. In 2018-19, Sears guided MSU to the top of the Division III leaderboard in rebounding margin at 12.2 per contest.
Prior to his time at Montclair State, Sears spent seven years coaching in the Ivy League, as an assistant at both Columbia University and Cornell University (2009-15).
As a player, Sears was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American following his senior season in which he averaged 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists per game. Sears earned a bachelor of science degree in communications from Newman University in Wichita, Kan.

ELITE CAMP DETAILS
Players attending the 2024 Elite Camp at Amherst College will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the Amherst College Coaches in addition to dozens of other collegiate coaches from various prestigious academic institutions throughout the country. To ensure each player will have multiple opportunities to be evaluated by our staff and other collegiate coaches in attendance, we have placed a limit on the number of available spots.
At the corner of Rte. 9 and Rte. 116, turn onto Rte. 116 South 2. Take the THIRD LEFT (counting the “Do Not Enter”) into the athletics complex 3. The athletics parking lot will be immediately on your right (along with Orr Rink). If there are no spaces available, try parking to your left in front of Alumni Gymnasium. If you still cannot find parking, go across the street and park along Hitchcock Road, which is directly across from the entrance to the athletics complex.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
Most clinics have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Transportation is not provided by the clinic to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from the clinic, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
