Prepare for your best season yet with elite instruction from Michael Strickland. Our summer 2026 camp at Hilton Head Preparatory School focuses on mastering individual goals through high-energy drills and competitive play in a supportive, all-boys environment.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

Camp Coaches

  • Michael Strickland

    With over a decade of coaching at the collegiate, prep school, and AAU levels—including time at James Madison University, Roanoke College, IMG Academy, The Citadel, Tuskegee, and University of Maine—Coach Strickland brings unmatched experience, leadership, and a passion for player development on and off the court.

    Starting at the high school level, Strickland made coaching stops at Gonzaga College High School, Benedictine Military Academy, and Bishop Walsh School.

    Strickland was a first team All-State selection at Carolina Forest High in SC, and went on to play collegiately at Randolph Macon College, graduating with a degree in Business/Economics.

    The Elite Hoops Basketball (EHB) staff is comprised of some of the best coaches in the area, specializing in camps, clinics, training sessions, leagues, and travel teams. Elite Hoops Basketball has been in partnership with Nike Basketball Camps for over 12 years, directing some of the Southeast's most popular day basketball camps.

    They are dedicated to providing athletes with the proper training and tools necessary to help improve your fundamental skills, offensive and defensive moves, and overall game in a fun and motivating environment. In 2016, EHB directed over 50 Nike Basketball Camps across eight southeastern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) with over 3600 players in attendance! CAMP DATES

  • Complete Skills I: June 29-July 3
  • Complete Skills II: July 27-31
CAMP HOURS
  • Check-in: Monday at 8:30am
  • Closing Ceremony: Friday at 11:30am
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. please bring a packed lunch.
  • Daily Hours: MON-THURS 9AM-3PM, FRI 9AM-12PM

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Lunch: Lunch is not provided, please bring a sack lunch each day
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Basketball Camps t-shirt. *1-day clinics and fall, winter and spring camps excluded.
  • Basketballs: Basketballs are provided for instruction during camp

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
  • Facility: Indoor courts
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

BASKETBALLS

Nike All Court Elite Basketballs can be purchased during registration for $35. Players can choose between a size 6 (28.5", standard girls) or size 7 (29.5", standard boys) ball, which will be passed out on the last day of camp. Please note that it is not required to bring a basketball to camp as they are provided by the staff for camp instruction.

PACKING LIST

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

CAMPER EVALUATION

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

COMPANY POLICIES

If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.

Hilton Head Preparatory School features a 20,600-square-foot Field House housing a multi-functional basketball and volleyball gymnasium, four locker rooms, and a wellness center. The facility includes advanced amenities like, based on recent 2025 reports, brand-adorned courts,, video boards, and shot trackers. A separate, additional court is located in the middle school building.
