AT NIKE BASKETBALL CAMPS
Train in the newly renovated Thayer Sports Center with some of the best coaches in New England in winter and summer 2025! This Braintree basketball clinic will focus on fundamentals, individual and team-based skill work, offensive and defensive drills, and competitive scrimmaging.
A Step Ahead (ASA) Nike Basketball Camps are designed for the player looking to improve their game and basketball IQ. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offense/defense, team play, and more.

Camp Director George Moses
George Moses, is a Director with A Step Ahead and has responsibilities for: Corporate Operations, Boys and Girls AAU (Greater Boston and South), Nike Basketball/ASA Hoops Summer Camps and Player Training and Development (Including after school, holiday and specialty clinics). In addition to his role with ASA, Coach Moses serves as an Assistant Dean of Students within the Boston Public School, system giving him a unique perspective that we welcome here at ASA.

- Campers have the option to attend all 3 days of camp or select specific days. This will be an option during registration.
Complete Skills I & II Camp Hours
- Check in: Monday at 8:30am
- Meals: Food is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.
- Half Day Camp Daily Hours: MON-FRI 9AM-12PM
- Full Day Camp Daily Hours: MON-THURS 9AM-3PM, FRI 9AM-2PM
Complete Skills III Camp Hours

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours

- Basketballs: Basketballs are provided for instruction during camp
TEAM DISCOUNT
If you have a group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. If you have a group of 10 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a $40 discount. Please fill out the Team Discount - Basketball form with the name of your group and the names of each camper enrolling in the camp and we will create a unique discount code for your group.
INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion
- Facility: Indoor courts
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

PACKING LIST
Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

CAMPER EVALUATION
ASA and Nike Basketball Camps are geared for all ages and abilities. Campers are expected to work hard, be receptive to coaching, exhibit discipline, have a strong work ethic, and be serious about basketball. As a staff we pride ourselves in being a teaching camp first with scrimmages and contests will take place throughout the week. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability. A closing ceremony will take place on the last day prior to check-out for full day campers. Parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony!
MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most clinics have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
COMPANY POLICIES
If you need to cancel for any reason up until 24 hours prior to camp check-in, you will receive a camp credit voucher for tuition fees paid that is good through the following year for any sport and is transferable to any immediate family member. Participants who DO NOT attend their registered session (no-shows for any reason) or who do not contact USSC to cancel at least 24 hours prior to camp check-in will not receive a voucher or refund. Cash refunds are given only if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration and the cancellation is made before your balance due date.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.

Campers train at the Thayer Sports Center on the Thayer Academy South Athletic Campus in the memorial and Alumni Gyms which feature varsity locker rooms. The South Athletic Campus is located at 1535 Washington Street, Braintree MA.

Very organized and fun for the kids!
August 2, 2021: Coach Moses is so great with the kids. Not just on basketball, but on overall life skills. I will definitely be doing more of these camps and all programs that ASA offers. The younger coaches clearly have been trained well and have a lot of passion for the sport, and for kids in general. Very organized and fun for the kids!
