Head to McDaniel College Basketball Camp in summer 2023 and receive instruction from the Women's Basketball staff. You will get the opportunity to work on skill developmental drills, shooting technique, footwork, and fun activities in a focused environment.
The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

Camp Director Christin Gowan
Gowan took over the reins of the Green Terror women's basketball program for the 2019-20 season after spending the previous two seasons as the head coach at Southern Vermont College.View Christin's Bio ⟩
In her first season with McDaniel, she won her opening two games on the sideline en route to 10 victories.
Gowan improved her Mountaineers team each season at the helm, culminating with the team’s first conference tournament appearance in four years in 2019. She successfully recruited on a national level with athletes representing seven states on the 2018-19 roster.
While at Southern Vermont, she also served as associate director of athletics, serving as senior woman’s administrator and overseeing compliance and game-day management. She was also tabbed interim director of athletics last summer.
Prior to her arrival in Bennington, she was an assistant coach at Occidental College in Los Angeles from 2015-17.
Before her time with the Tigers, she served as an assistant coach at Division II California State University-Stanislaus, where she earned her bachelor of arts in psychology in 2011.
While a student at Stanislaus, Gowan was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team and was named the institution’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior. She also earned a spot on the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s All-Academic Team three times. She was a CoSIDA Academic All-District second team selection in 2011.
As a player, she was the team leader in 3-pointers as a junior and a senior and led the team in assists with 114 as a senior. She still holds the Warriors’ record for best free-throw percentage in a single season, hitting 70 of 80 attempts (87.5 percent) in 2007-08. She also holds the career free-throw percentage record at 79.5 percent (267 of 336).
Gowan earned her master of arts in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia-Irvine in 2013.

Campers will reside in the Daniel MacLea Hall dorms on campus and stay two per room. Roommate assignments are finalized the day prior to the first day of each camp session. If a camper has made a roommate request, it will be accommodated. You will be contacted in advance should we have any questions regarding roommate requests. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS
On the first day of camp, all extended day campers should arrive dressed and ready to play. Drop off and pick up locations will be given out at registration.

♦ Extended Day Camper Hours are 9am-8:30pm.
♦ Lunch and dinner provided.
♦ Extended Day Camper Hours are 9am-3pm.

♦ Check-out immediately follows closing ceremony.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.

Campers will utilize the Gill Center on the campus of McDaniel College. The Gill Center features 4 full-sized courts (3 in the main gym and 1 in the auxiliary gym).
