Abigail M Oser

Abigail Moser is an Assistant Coach at Saint Leo University.

Saint Leo first-year head coach Jason Skoch announced the addition of assistant coach Abigail Moser to his Saint Leo volleyball coaching staff on Tuesday, March 5. Moser, who most recently served as head coach of the Quincy University volleyball program, brings several years of Division II coaching experience.

“I am happy to have Abby join me at Saint Leo,” said coach Skoch. “She has more experience than most people her age and I was looking for that in a potential assistant coach to help me hit the ground running here at Saint Leo. I like surrounding myself with coaches that enjoy training the student-athletes and helping them become better than what they started out as. This team has lots of potential and we need to improve our first-ball contact which is Abby’s specialty. She has a great eye for talent as well, which will help us to continue to bring in great student-athletes.”

Moser has spent the last two seasons as head coach of the Quincy University volleyball program in Quincy, Ill. In her first year as head coach she helped guide senior outside hitter Rebekah Raebel to first team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) honors. She guided the Hawks to third in the conference in digs per set in 2017 and then to second in 2018 at 18.94 dps. She had a perfect graduation rate in her two seasons at the helm and led the team to a 3.4 GPA.

“First, I would like to thank Jason and Saint Leo community for the opportunity to join the Lion program,” stated coach Moser. “I am excited to be working alongside Jason and Erik, as they both have a ton of successful experience at high levels. I know I will be learning a tremendous amount from both of them. The future of the Lion volleyball program is bright and I am excited to get into the gym and begin training with the team! Lastly, I would like to thank Marty Bell and the Quincy University volleyball program for the opportunities they have given me to learn and grow as a professional.”

Prior to taking over as head coach, Moser spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Quincy. She focused primarily on the defensive side of the ball and led the Hawks to a third place finish in the GLVC in digs per set in 2016. She helped guide her libero to a pair of GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honors and saw her named second team All-GLVC in 2016. She also had a senior middle blocker earn first team All-GLVC honors that season. In her first season as an assistant, she took the Hawks who ranked 11th in digs per set in the GLVC and improved them all the way to fifth in 2015. The team never dropped below third in the GLVC in digs per set during any of the following three seasons she spent at Quincy as either a head or assistant coach.

The Wildwood, Mo. native spent four seasons as a libero at Truman State prior to entering the coaching field, helping the Bulldogs to the 2014 GLVC Tournament championship. She was the starting libero for 134 of the last 135 matches of her career and is the Bulldogs' all-time leader in digs (2,416) and digs per set (4.75). She was the 2014 GLVC Libero of the Year and was named to the All-Midwest Region squad. Moser was a four-time GLVC Defensive Player of the Week.

In addition to her successes with a nationally competitive collegiate program, Moser was previously part of two highly regarded prep programs in the Rockwood Thunder VBC and Lafayette High School, where she also received recognition for her defensive play. Moser was named to the Under Armour/AVCA All-American watch list, as well as nominations to Missouri's All-Region and All-State teams.

Moser graduated from Truman State University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and followed that up with a master’s degree in special education from Quincy University in 2017.
