Ally Yamada
Coach
Coach Ally Yamada was a 4-year Varsity basketball player and Senior captain at Smith College. She was a stand-out player and helped her team go to four consecutive NEWMAC conference championships, two DIII Sweet Sixteen’s, one Final Four, and was a National Championship Finalist.
During
her senior season, Yamada led her team in three point-percentage (.41), scoring
over 1,000 points, and breaking the school record for three-pointers made in a
season and made career three-pointers. She started in all 34 games and
was a NEWMAC champion and National Runner-Up for Smith. Yamada also made
NEWMAC-All Conference first team in 2024 and the NEWBA All-Region Second-Team.
Next year, she will be attending Smith College’s graduate school for Exercise
Sports and Studies where she will be a graduate assistant coach. She has
been helping coach Nike Camps for Coach Rivas since 2017 and went with him last
summer for a two-week long clinic in Japan as a skills coach.
