Anna Mitchell enters her third season as an assistant for the Quakers’ softball team after being introduced in the fall of 2014. Mitchell played college softball at Surry Community College for two seasons before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to finish her undergraduate degree in history. While at Surry, she was a First Team Region X pitcher in 2011.

Mitchell has served as the head coach in the North Carolina Dominators fastpitch softball club and as an assistant coach in the Carolina Stars organization. With the Dominators, Mitchell started a 14-and-under team and competed in 20 ASA tournaments in the Carolinas. With the Stars, she helped pitchers and catchers prepare for games and led infield drills at practice while teaching fundamentals of the game.

The Pinnacle, North Carolina native spent four years (2006-2010) working with then University of North Carolina associate head coach, Beverly Smith.
