Annie Collom joined the Cavalier program in July of 2023 as an assistant coach and serves as co-director for the Nike Junior Golf Camps at UVA.

She spent the previous two seasons as the assistant coach at Denver. In her final season at Denver, Collom helped the Crimson and Gold add to the legacy of the program, securing its fourth straight Summit League Championship by setting a 54-hole tournament record for a team with a 852 score. The Pioneers also posted the second lowest team scoring average in program history at 291.24.

The Pioneers picked up five All-Summit League selections in 2022-23, with four being first-team selections. Denver also produced the Summit League Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive season and the Summit League Championship MVP.

Collom helped Denver secure its third straight, and seventh overall, Summit League Championship in her first year with the program. That season Denver had three all-conference performers in addition to the Summit League Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.

Prior to working at Denver, Collom spent two seasons at Denison University as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s golf teams. In 2021, both the men and women’s golf programs won the NCAC Championship and earned trips to the NCAA Tournament. She coached the NCAC Player of the Year, four male golfers to All-American honors and two female golfers to All-Region accolades.

Prior to that, Collom enjoyed a successful four-year playing career at the University of Richmond from 2015-19.

Highlights from her career at Richmond included earning All-Patriot League second-team honors for all four seasons, holding the program’s second-lowest single-season scoring average (75.07) for her 2018-19 campaign, and her 2019 Second Team VaSID All-State Selection. She also tallied 12, top-10 finishes during her career and became the first player in school history to shoot five-under par in a single round (67 vs. Columbia on Oct. 14, 2018).

Collom helped to lead the Spiders to three-straight Patriot League Conference Championships from 2016-18, She qualified for the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regionals in each of those three seasons while also being named to the Patriot League All-Academic team in 2018. Collom graduated from Richmond in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics, economics and law, while also minoring in healthcare studies. A native of Charlotte, N.C., she earned her master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown in 2022.
