Austin Heenan
Camp Director
Austin Heenan began coaching at Salisbury in the fall of 2018 and is in his fifth season as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Sea Gull Baseball. He served both roles during SU’s national championship season in 2021 and national runner-up campaign in 2022.
Heenan also served two seasons as pitching coach for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Rafters’ pitching staff was ranked No. 1 in the league in 2020 and No. 2 in 2021. Seven pitchers from those teams were eventually selected in the MLB Draft.
Heenan played his first two collegiate years at Division I Virginia Military Institute (VMI), where he was a weekend starter during his sophomore season in 2015. He transferred to Salisbury in 2018 and was named D3baseball.com First-Team All-Region and All-America honorable mention that year. In his one season for the Sea Gulls, Heenan set the program’s single-season strikeout record (118) and career ERA mark (2.24). He also ranks top-10 in single-season SU history in wins (10) and innings pitched (100.2).
