McBeth is entering his first season as Jeff Horner's top assistant in 2018-19. McBeth, a 2012 graduate from Iowa State University, comes to Kirksville after two years as an assistant under Bill Walker at the University of Illinois Springfield.

McBeth will begin his sixth year in collegiate coaching when he joins the Bulldogs this summer. That experience includes stops as the head assistant at Montreat College (2013-14), an NAIA program in North Carolina, an assistant at Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa (2014-16), and an assistant for the Prairie Stars (2016-18), also of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native played his collegiate ball for two and a half years under former Cyclone great and NBA veteran, Fred Hoiberg, after spending one season on the football team. Prior to his time in Ames, McBeth transferred in from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs after one season of football for the prominent Reivers program. Following his graduation from Iowa State, McBeth helped work camps as well as conduct individual workouts after a berth into the NCAA Tournament with the Cyclones.

While at Montreat, McBeth was the head assistant for guard play as well as strength and conditioning. Following his stint at Montreat, McBeth turned his focus to the development and instruction of players, not only from the physical aspect, but the mental side as well.

McBeth created Smart Basketball Training, as a part of Championship Productions, where they created an online skills training program that also came with instructional DVD's. McBeth was also a key player in running camps and clinics throughout the year.

While at Championship Productions, McBeth helped lead DMACC to the NJCAA Final Four in 2014-15 after winning the conference and regional championship. The Bears finished with an overall record of 28-7 including a mark of 10-2 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play.
