Barry Dear

Barry Dear is the Director of Golf at Valleybrook Country Club and serves as Camp Director for the Nike Junior Golf Camps.

Barry Dear is a third-generation golf professional with over 25 years of experience as both an instructor and a tournament player. He has competed at every level of competitive golf including junior golf, high school golf, Division 1 collegiate golf and professional golf. As a senior at Woodbury High School, he tied for first place in the NJSIAA State Championship. In college, he played for four years at UNC-Greensboro as the team captain. Professionally, he has competed on the South Florida Tour, New England Pro Tour, Web.com Tour, and the PGA Tour. He has also competed in the local Philadelphia PGA Section.

As an instructor, Barry has taught thousands of students ranging from beginners to professionals. He has been fortunate enough to work with some of the worlds best instructors, including Mike Bender, Jerry Tucker, Mike Adams and Andy Plummer. His teaching philosophy is to help students to achieve the simplest most efficient methods for playing the game and scoring. Over the last 20 years, his students have won multiple high school tournaments, collegiate events and club championships.
