Ben Suchon
Assistant Head Coach
Suchon is a Plover, Wis., native and played high school baseball at Stevens Point Area High School and summer Legion ball for the Plover Black Sox. After graduation, he took some time away from the game and found his way back by becoming assistant varsity coach of the Stevens Point Sixers Legion team for two seasons. After that, he became the Sixers junior varsity head coach for three years. During his time coaching Legion baseball he was an associate scout with the Chicago White Sox.
After noting a lack of fall baseball opportunities, Suchon started Prospect 101, a fall baseball league for high school players. In 2013, Suchon became youth coordinator and facility manager at Hitters Baseball Academy where he ran the youth program as well as camps and classes. Also at this time, Suchon spent one summer coaching at the Brewers Baseball Academy where he instructed and ran youth camps.
Suchon left Hitters in the fall of 2016 and enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Sports Management Program. He brings his passion for softball and baseball to Grinnell.
