Bobby Andrews

Bobby Andrews enters his second season as a volunteer assistant at USC in 2021. Andrews previously served as an assistant under Head Coach Jason Gill at LMU, and prior to that had a successful four-year playing career in the Baltimore Orioles organization and two years in Independent League baseball. He currently works primarily with the USC outfielders.

Andrews helped guide the Lions to their first postseason appearance since 2000 in 2019, when LMU won the WCC and finished with a 34-25 record. The Lions made the final of the UCLA regional, taking the host Bruins to the brink of elimination before falling. Andrews also helped guide the 2017 LMU team to a 38-win season in 2017, the sixth most wins in program history. Andrews was an assistant with the Lions for the past three years (2017-19), a volunteer assistant for three season prior to that (2014-16) and was LMU’s Director of Baseball Operations in 2013.

Andrews was drafted out of Cal State Fullerton in 2005, going in the seventh round to the Orioles. He appeared in 327 games as a professional, reaching the double-A level, posting a total of 254 hits, 170 runs scored, 91 RBI, 84 stolen bases, 34 doubles, 10 triples and seven homers as a pro.

While at Fullerton, the speedy outfielder helped guide the Titans to a 2004 National Championship serving as its starting right fielder. Andrews hit .325 for the Titans in that championship year, collecting 21 runs scored and 15 RBI as a sophomore. In his final campaign, Andrews hit .297 with 13 stolen bases and 23 RBI.

Prior to heading to Fullerton, Andrews was a standout player at Rancho Buena Vista High School, in Vista, Calif. There, he helped his team to a Division I CIF Championship in 2002 and was named High School Male Athlete of the Year.
