Bre Lewis

Bre Lewis is the Head Volleyball Coach at Christian Brothers University.

Bre Lewis entered her third season as head coach of the Christian Brothers University volleyball team in 2022. She was announced as the new Head Volleyball Coach, on March 30, 2020. Lewis comes to CBU after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State University (Kan.) where she was the recruiting coordinator and worked mostly with blocking and hitting.

After coming on to a Pitt State program with a 2-27 record in 2015, Lewis helped lead the Gorillas to a 45 wins over the next four seasons, including 32 in her last two campaigns. Lewis and the Gorillas earned 18 wins in 2018, which is the most by a Pitt State team since 2009 (25). The 32 combined wins over the last two seasons are the most since 2009-10 (39). During her tenure, Pitt State had 8 players named to the all-conference team, including a pair of second team selections in rightside hitter Lauren Regier and middle Morgan Henning.

The Topeka, Kan., native came to Pitt State after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Texas Woman's University, where she worked with middles and rightsides. In 2015 the Pioneers improved from an 18-10 record in 2014 to a 24-8 and were selected to the NCAA Tournament South Region. Lewis was also an instrumental part of coaching Elizabeth Pennington and Hillary Shaffer, 2 AVCA Honorable-Mention All American middles.

During her time at TWU, Lewis also served as head coach for the North Point Volleyball Club (Denton, Texas). Before that she spent two seasons as the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Seaman High School in Topeka (her alma mater).

After sitting out her freshman season with a medical redshirt at Texas A&M University, Lewis had a successful career at Washburn University (Topeka, KS). During her time, the Lady Bods went 127-17 being selected all four years for the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the South Central Regional Final in her final two seasons. Lewis was a 2011 NCAA Division II AVCA First Team All-American as a right-side hitter for Washburn. She was also a three-time AVCA All-Region, three-time Daktronics All-Region and three-time All-MIAA honoree. She also earned MIAA Scholar Athlete honors three times, and was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll all four years.

Lewis graduated cum laude from Washburn in 2012 with bachelor’s degrees in history and anthropology. She earned her master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching from Texas Woman's in December of 2015.
