The delayed 2020-21 season was one of the most unique seasons in the history of Temple men’s soccer. Rowland led the program through its first-ever spring regular season during the COVID-19 pandemic. Temple had its first winning season since 2017 with a 5-4-2 record. Rowland secured his highest-ranked win ever as head coach with the Owls defeating No. 2 SMU 2-0. Temple also defeated No. 23 Tulsa and earned a three seed in the AAC playoffs, its highest ever seed in the American postseason.

In 2019 Rowland led the Owls to an 8-8-2 record in his second year with the program. The three-win improvement was one of the best turnarounds in the American. Temple claimed outstanding victories including defeating national powerhouse Louisville on the road and defeating UCONN for the first time in program history. The Owls’ season was highlighted by a three-game conference winning streak, their longest since joining the American. The squad defeated Memphis 2-1 for their first-ever win in the AAC playoffs.

Rowland had a statement inaugural season at the helm of the Temple men’s soccer program during the fall of 2018. Under his direction, the Owls shined as a fresh program with a 17-man roster change and an entirely new coaching staff from the year prior. The squad displayed its abilities from the gate, as Rowland saw his first victory as head coach in a 1-0 overtime win over the nationally ranked Old Dominion Monarchs in early September. The young, talented group also dished out one of the biggest upsets of the year when they handed the nationally recognized UCF Knights one of just three losses on the season.
