Brie Campbell

Brie Campbell

The 2024 season will be year five in charge of the Warriors for head coach Brie Campbell, who was named the Head Coach for Jessup Softball in June of 2019. Campbell, who brings to the Warriors years of experience as an athletic administrator, coach, and athlete, has led the Warriors to a GSAC Championship, NAIA Opening Round appearance, and a record of 88-71 during her tenure.

"As a program, we strive to succeed both on the field and off," says Campbell. "It is important to give our student-athletes an opportunity to thrive in the classroom, in the community, and in sport. With a healthy balance, we will build Warriors that will leave their mark on the program building a winning dynasty while going beyond William Jessup to impact the lives they come into contact with in their future endeavors."

YEAR-BY-YEAR RESULTS

  • Year one of the Campbell administration ended up a shortened season, as the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to the year just 18 games in. Albeit a shortened season, the year was highlighted by a Valentine's Day victory over the nation's top-ranked Southern Oregon University. Win number one for Campbell came on Opening Day, a 10-4 victory over Carroll.
  • Jessup cracked the NAIA Coaches Poll in year two, receiving votes in back-to-back polls. The Warriors finished 19-21 in a season where every opponent minus one were receiving national votes at the time of the game. The Warriors again defeated No. 1 Southern Oregon on Valentine's Day, giving the Raiders their first loss since the Feb. 14 meeting a year prior. The season was capped off with three student-athletes being named to the All-GSAC team.
  • Campbell's third season was the most successful one in the program's history. Jessup won a record 39 games and went 20-4 within the GSAC. The Warriors won both the GSAC regular season and conference tournament titles for the first time, earning Jessup its first NAIA Opening Round berth. During the season, Jessup reached as high as No. 23 in the Coaches' Poll, the best in program history. For their efforts, six Warriors were named to the All-GSAC team and Campbell earned herself the honor of GSAC Coach of the Year.
  • Coming off a championship season in 2022, the Warriors again qualified for the GSAC Tournament in 2023, doing so on the last day of the regular season when they swept Menlo College. Jessup went 24-23 in 2023, ending their season in Irvine as the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. Jessup saw two All-GSAC selections for Sam Lorge and Sarah Giles while earning national votes in each NAIA Coaches' Poll until the release of the final one in May.
