Brock Ragatz
Assistant Coach | Pitching & Recruiting
Brock Ragatz joins the baseball staff in a full-time capacity ahead of the 2024 season, having helped out in a part-time role since the 2021 campaign. Ragatz will oversee Jessup’s pitching unit, while assisting head coach Trevor Paine in recruiting and day-to-day operations.
In his three seasons with the Warriors, Ragatz helped Jessup to two winning years, including the 2022 season that ended in the GSAC Tournament. The Warriors knocked two top-15 teams out of the conference tournament as part of a run that ended in extra innings of the championship round.
Ragatz is also the Pitching Coach of the Lincoln Potters, a role he took on before their 2022 summer season. In 2021, Ragatz served as the manager of the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox.
In his transition to baseball, Ragatz relinquishes the role of Athletic Coordinator which he earned in the summer of 2022. Ragatz played an integral part within the athletics department, assisting in recruiting, game day entertainment, and game management. His role saw him assist various teams in the recruiting of varsity and JV athletes. He also oversaw the coordination of Willy the Warrior, Jessup’s mascot, and various game day experiences such as the concession stand, sponsorship reads, and fan engagement.
Ragatz will still oversee the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
During his time at Jessup, Ragatz completed his Master’s Degree in 2021, earning his M. A. in Sports Management. Ragatz earned his B. S. in Sports Marketing and Administration from Northern State University in South Dakota.
It was at Northern State where Ragatz was introduced to current Jessup Associate Athletic Director Brandon Bowling. Ragatz has assisted Bowling here at Jessup in acquiring new partners/assisting current partners of the department.
At Northern State, Ragatz pitched on the baseball team. He also worked for the university as the Athletics Marketing and Operations Assistant.
Ragatz, originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, currently resides in Lincoln. He loves to fish and golf when not working.
