Nike Softball Coach Bryan Merrida

Coach Bryan Merrida has been coaching since 1978, when he coached for his then company team, Wells Fargo Mortgage Company. It was that introduction that encouraged him to continue coaching.

In 1984 he guided his Mr. A's Express Women's team, to a A.S.A. National Championship, in Midland, Texas. In 1997 it was another A.S.A. National Championship; this time in Stockton, Ca. 2001 began a brief four year ride with Nor Cal Lite.

Since 2005 All American Sports Academy has been home. Merrida has been the head coach of AASA 18 Gold since that time. The relationship has been rich, as the 18U team has blossomed to become one of the top teams in Northern California and nationally recognized by way of several top ten finishes at PGF Nationals and the prestigious IDT, in Boulder, Colorado. Merrida has overseen the development and advancement of over 100 players, who have gone on to play softball at the collegiate level.

Ali Aguilar, USA Softball National Team, University of Washington and NPF Scrap Yard Dog; Courtney Ceo, University of Oregon and NPF USSSA Pride; Bubba Nickles and Holly Azevedo, UCLA, Frankie Hammoude, USA Junior National Team member and Oregon State University, all played for Coach Bryan with AASA 18U/Gold.

Merrida is assistant coach at Pioneer High School in Woodland, Ca., with his wife Linda, who is the head coach. The duo has produced three high school section championships. ( 2006, 2013 & 2014 ) There has also been 11 league titles since 2006.

Coach Bryan is married to Linda and has a daughter Christina, who resides in Austin, Texas. After a successful softball career at East Carolina University, she moved to the coaching ranks as an assistant coach at the University North Texas for four years, until her retirement in 2018.
