Carlos Palestina

Carlos Palestina is a highly respected coach known locally for his player‑first approach, technical expertise, and deep commitment to positive youth development. Since 2016, he has led competitive and premier‑level soccer teams, including serving as a High School Varsity Head Coach and working with premier teams at Utah Development Academy (UDA), where he has built a reputation for elevating players through a coaching philosophy centered on skill development, confidence‑building, and positive, constructive instruction.

Renowned in the community for his passion for youth soccer development, Carlos focuses on cultivating leadership, discipline, and teamwork on and off the field. His teams are known for their strong identity, continuous improvement, and a culture that values character as much as performance.

With over a decade of experience in public education and youth development, Carlos brings a mentor’s mindset to every training environment. His work with students from underserved communities shapes his belief that sport can be a powerful pathway to long‑term academic and personal success. Born in Mexico City and active in multiple sports since childhood, he pairs his coaching acumen with a deep understanding of how young people learn, grow, and stay motivated.

He previously led the implementation of the Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative within Utah’s local government, building partnerships, expanding opportunities, and advocating for boys and young men of color.
