Carrol DeNure

Carrol DeNure is the Volleyball Coach at Christ Presbyterian Academy.
Carrol has coached volleyball for over 20 years, which includes coaching club volleyball, Head Coach of Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA, and presently the Head Varsity Coach at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, TN. As the Flint Hill School's first Varsity level coach, Carrol quickly helped build the program into one of the best teams along the east coast. She was named VISAA Division I Coach of the Year nine times (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and also received the Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year in 2012. With Flint Hill winning 10 state championships in 12 years, her teams finished as the Washington Post #1 ranked team five times. In 2017, Flint Hill finished the season with a 35-0 record and a #13 national ranking by Maxpreps XCellent Top 25. She has coached five Washington Post All-Met Players of the Year, four Virginia State Gatorade Players of the Year, and eight VISAA Division I Players of the Year. Her players have gone on to play collegiate volleyball at various universities including University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, University of Wisconsin, Liberty University, Virginia Tech, Rutgers University, University of Maryland, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Johns Hopkins University, University of San Diego, Hartford University, Elon University, Fairfield University and Emory University.
During her coaching career Carrol has also been involved with coaching club volleyball in the CHRVA region where her teams won regionals five times and qualified for USAV Nationals eight times. Before moving to Nashville in 2021, she and her husband Dave coached the Metro 14 Travel team out of Washington DC.
For the past three years, she has been the Head Coach at Christ Presbyterian Academy where she and Dave are working to build volleyball program, train players and continuing to grow the sport of volleyball in this region.
Growing up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Carrol was a three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, cross country) and was selected Most Athletic her senior year and was an all-region athlete. She was also Co-Valedictorian of her graduating class. In 2016 she was inducted into her high school’s Hall of Fame.
Carrol graduated Magna Cum Laude from Freed Hardeman University in 1991 with a B.S. degree in Teaching Mathematics. Carrol and her husband, Dave DeNure, have four children: Jesse, who played football at The College of William & Mary; Gracie, a graduate student at Clemson University; Dan, a teacher and coach at Flint Hill School; and Lexi, a recent graduate of James Madison University.
