Chris Deibel

Chris Deibel enters his 21st season as the head men's and women's golf coach at Ohio Dominican.

In his time at ODU, Deibel has coached 49 individual champions, four All-Americans (1 NCAA and 3 NAIA), 32 all-conference selections, one conference player of the year, nine GCAA All-Region student-athletes and led his teams to 41 team championships, three regional appearances and three national championship appearances.

The men’s golf team qualified for the NAIA National Championships in 2008 and 2010 with two appearances in the NCAA Division II era. In 2013, the Panthers qualified for the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional with Nick Reardon advancing to the National Championships. Robert Holden reached the Regional as an individual in 2022 and advanced to the NCAA Championship based on his third place finish. Following his 11th place finish at the national championship, Holden was named an All-American and Great Midwest Player of the Year,

Jamie Ellison made two individual appearances at the NCAA Women’s Golf Super Region 1 Championships in 2014 and 2016. The women’s golf team clinched the program’s first team Regional spot in 2023, playing in the NCAA East Regional.

Deibel previously worked as the Head Golf Pro at The Willows Golf Club in Groveport, Ohio. He is a graduate of the PGA Golf Professional Training Program ('99), and received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Capital University ('93) where he was a four-year member of the Crusaders golf team.

Coach Deibel also serves as the certified strength and conditioning coach for the ODU Athletic Department. He was recently appointed as a member of the NCAA Division 2 Men’s Golf National Committee, and is an active member of the PGA, Golf Coaches Association of American, and Women’s Golf Coaches Association. He is a certified instructor with SeeMore putters, Super Speed golf, Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Fitness, and most recently the International Sports Science Association.
