Harris Boyes

Harris Boyes is the Head Volleyball Coach at the University of Mount Saint Vincent.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent has officially named Harris Boyes the head coach for both the men's and women's volleyball team, according to Athletic Director Phil Stern. Boyes served as the interim head coach for the Dolphins women's program in the second half of the 2023 season, where he propelled the team to a 6-4 record once appointed the role.

"I am excited to watch Harris build our volleyball programs and look forward to

giving him the necessary resources," Stern told UMSVAthletics.com. "His experience at different levels of NCAA Volleyball will increase our level of play and give our student-athletes a positive experience on and off the court."

Boyes has showcased his coaching skills across both the Division I and Division III levels, with his most recent stop taking place in New Jersey with Fairleigh Dickinson University. Boyes served on the staff from the program's inception back in 2021 through their 2023 campaign. He displayed his ability on the big stage over at Villanova University as well, where he, as a volunteer assistant, helped the team accomplish multiple feats, including sweeping #9 ranked Creighton University, as well as earning a spot in the Big East semifinal.

"Thank you to UMSV, Athletic Director Phil Stern, and the rest of the athletic department for allowing me to take this next step of my collegiate coaching career in leading both volleyball programs. I am grateful for the opportunity to have a positive impact on our student athletes throughout their college journey," Boyes stated. "UMSV Volleyball will have a relentless pursuit of excellence both on the court and in the classroom. To honor those who have been a part of the program before us, have unwavering confidence in those who are here now, and setting the standard for those that will be with us in the future, will help propel each team to new heights."

Boyes' collegiate coaching days originated in Pennsylvania, where he coached women's volleyball at Gwynedd Mercy University in 2017. He then made his way up north to New Jersey, where he coached both volleyball programs at Kean University between 2017 and 2019. Boyes saw both his team and players take home numerous honors, including championships in both the Continental Volleyball Conference and New Jersey Athletic Conference.

Boyes, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began his coaching career in 2012. He received his bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University and currently resides in New Jersey.

In addition to his success with the women's program, Boyes will inherit a men's squad that reached the Skyline Conference postseason for the first time since the 2018 season. Both Dolphins teams have been pillars of success for UMSV's athletic department over the last decade, and Boyes' skillset on the bench has both teams poised to return to prominence.
